Right. Cuz whoever heard of freedom for freedom's sake? Freedom should always promote the order of the reigning regime, and strictly limited so as to serve the purpose of controlling the masses and facilitating their moral and intellectual betterment. Especially is this true in a 1984-ish scientific technocracy, where uncritical thinking, unscientific beliefs, intellectual dishonesty, not backing your statements with irrefutable evidence, and not obeying the scientific method must be punished swiftly and severely. We can't have a bunch of mouthy freethinkers running around creating dissension afterall. Heil Science!

The only positive thing that could result from quantity being reduced, is if quality goes up as a result.

If both quality and quantity decrease, then there isn't anything much to be positive about.

I'm aware that's a subjective judgement, but I do have long experience to work from.
I'm also commenting based on my experience with certain sub-forums, not across the board. When I mention Quality, I'm referring only to those forums I (used to) frequent, not specifically the science ones.

Yep, speculation, and as per the scientific method, a hypothesis remains a hypothesis, and UFO's remain just that...UFO's.

While time travelling is not forbidden by GR, and while we do have theories re extra dimensions, we have no evidence for time travellers, nor do we have evidence for extra dimensions as yet.
The illogical part is how MR will switch the claim as to whether it is Alien, time traveller or interdimensional being, to suit whatever he is being taken to task about.

Let me again reinforce a couple of points: I firmly believe that logic and common sense dictates that we are not alone: The near infinite extent of the Universe, [if not infinite] the near infinite numbers of stars, planets, galaxies etc, and the stuff of life being everywhere we have looked, imho make it a foregone conclusion. But wait!
While I 100% believe that, I also know that we have absolutely no physical evidence of any kind, indicating that life exists elsewhere.
Just as while we have many unexplained sightings and phenomena that have been unexplained, is absolutely no conclusive evidence that we have been visited...none, zilch, nada!
And again, I would dearly love for some conclusive, convincing evidence to come to light showing that we are not alone, at least before I kick the bucket.

So how do you rule out these unexplained phenomena being caused by life elsewhere? If the phenomena are unexplained, what prevents the ET prospect from being a possible explanation?

    Wow!!!
I'm ruling nothing out except the stupid idiotic claim by some that anything that is unexplained, or Unidentified is of Alien origin.
"Just as while we have many unexplained sightings and phenomena that have been unexplained, is absolutely no conclusive evidence that we have been visited...none, zilch, nada"!

So again, how do you rule out accounts of advanced craft flying in the skies and landing in fields, with occupants exiting the craft in silver suits, from being ET's? What about these numerous encounters rules out aliens visiting us from another planet? If such sightings are unexplained, why is the ET hypothesis not a viable explanation?

Unexplainable, and of course still open to speculation and a myriad of other causes...Mass hysteria, mob mentality,...confused children,..someone playing an elaborate prank, mirage, illusion.
But if you have any evidence of anything physically left behind, like a water bottle, syringe, silver suit, even a body, Alien faeces, etc, then please present it....It would indeed make my day!

Why would an alien leave waterbottles and syringes and bodies? We have many traces in the forms of burned vegetation, radiation burns on skin, melted sand and soil, and even a strange gel residue left on the ground. But that isn't evidence is it? Because as you claim, there is no evidence of ETs visiting earth.

Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't they make their visit official, considering they visit us often? Why not land on the lawns of Government House in Canberra? or the White House lawns? Why the continuing flittering in then flittering out again, without any known reason?

Most of those could be caused by any number of Earthly phenomena.
Extraordinary evidence is required, no matter how much you object to this.
Again after many thousands of supposed visitations, surely something more physical should have been left behind? Why the continued secrecy?

Or is krash the evidence you finally have acquired?

Sounds like you have a preconception of the alien's agenda and purposes that you assume they should fulfill in order for you to admit their existence. If someone breaks into my house at night, but doesn't steal my HD TV like I expect they would, does that mean nobody broke into my house? Reality doesn't have to conform to our expectations of how it should be. It is what it is, and we form our expectations based in what it is, not on what we want it to be.

It seems to me that you have a preconceived agenda to explain anything that is "Unidentified" as unworldly or UnEarthly no matter how unscientific ...ghosts, goblins and Bigfoot included.

By "unexplained" I'm assuming you mean unexplained by anything mundane or earthly, correct? So what rules out otherworldly? What would otherworldly even look like? Alot like ufos..

You may latch onto the "unexplained"with all the energy you have...It though encompasses a big arena...it means unexplained from the data available....or if you like "Unidentified"
Is it Aliens? Is it time travellers? Is it inter-dimensional beings? Is it a mirage?, Is it a rare atmospheric phenomena?...Is it mass delusions/illusions by impressionable folk? No, its simply unexplained and or Unidentified.

So if it's unexplained, then no natural cause or hoax or hallucination explains it right? What keeps it from being explained by something otherworldly? What rules that out?

    That isn't what actually happened.

Firstly, he just advised that what he had misquoted would not have affected the point he was making, so the result would have been the same regardless, because it was a misrepresentation even if he had selected the correct quote. The misrepresentation was still intentional, regardless of what he would have quoted. He could have not quoted anything at all and he would have still received an infraction.

Secondly, he didn't advise that he had selected the wrong quote - as a moderator who knows of which infraction he received back then in 2014, this is the first time I have heard that he had misquoted me or anyone else. Nor did he make any effort to edit his post (I did just go back and check), nor did he offer up any correction. His intent, which was clear, was still to misrepresent what had been said by cherry-picking one line out of people's comments and taking them out of context and commenting about the lack of answers to a ridiculous hypothetical, regardless of what he had quoted. Remember, he did say that his misquotation would not have affected the point he was making.

Thirdly, he entered the fray by making a ridiculous comment and accusation regarding a "hypothetical" that I had answered. The hypothetical involved a question of whether a newborn baby could have its umbilical cord re-attached and shoved back up the mother's vagina back into the uterus and be aborted, which I answered would have killed the mother and baby and advised the hypothetical was criminally absurd as it was obscene. I was then accused of not answering the hypothetical of whether it could still be aborted..

Make of that what you will. To wit, cluelusshusbund's incursion into the thread was to flame and troll it. So he received an infraction of one point for his obvious trolling and flaming with his fairly obvious misrepresentation.

So no, I do not see why the moderator who issued him with the infraction should apologise to him, nor would I ever suggest he apologise to him or retract and I doubt the administrators would either.

It's unexplained by the simple fact that we do not have enough data to determine what it is.....Unworldly or otherwise. It's really simple to understand.
Unless of course you have had any knowledge of our apparent self proclaimed alien friend krash?
