Humans evolving intelligence is remarkable like cheetahs evolving a 70mph sprint is remarkable , just a different degree. We only look at intelligence as a achievement because we are humanocentric. I would point out that intelligence has yet to prove its efficacy at long-term survival. Humans have ruled the planet for less than a hundred thousand years. Dinosaurs ruled it for 135 million years.
We didnt evolve from an ape Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! We just share a common ancestor and due to different evolutionary paths our ancestors took it led to different species.
Right, some people say we are the pinnacle of evolution because we are so freaking smart. The Cheetah thinks that they are the pinnacle of evolution because they are so freaking fast. Both are wrong, becasue we both are just the most recent iteration of evolution.
No, birds walk on two feet. Essentially the developement of our high intelligence happened through a series of unique circumstances and so it appears to be a fluke or aberation. Over the course of hundreds of millions of years humans are the only species that has developed the absurdly large brain and the ability to make technology. If we are really so smart how is it that Trump the president of one of the most powerful countries in the world. Get over yourselves.

Animal Intelligence Hierarchy Great Apes: In the Animal Intelligence Hierarchy, the Great Apes also known as Hominids occupy the top most ranking in all of the Species of animals. Their intelligence is quietly very similar to that of humans sharing almost more than 98% of the geneticald substance. They after getting some training are able to communicate and express thoughts and showing emotions through sign language. From memory (if anybody knows different please advise) Great Ape (Gorilla) after training reach the mental age of about a 5 year old human child.
Gorillas can be taught sign language. Chimps are better at some kinds of math than humans. Whales seem to have their own language. I don't think I have to show how a 5 year old human is intelligent, it's self-evident.
Sure , dinosaurs were simple creatures . Intelligent beings become , because of there intelligence , much more complicated . Hence psychology comes into play , thinking , community , individualism , philosophy , survival , perspection, Emotions , science , exploration , writing , religion etc. The challenge of intelligence is actually the length of survival , how long any intelligent life can survive in the end . That is what Humanity has not grasped yet . Simple beings don't complicate there life , their survival with complex thinking , therefore , can live longer . But also could never defend themselves from beyond planet dynamics , comets , meteors etc . So intelligent life forms need to be both simple and complex at the same time . And that is Humanities challenge . river
Simple beings live longer? You are referring to lower life forms? We certainly outlive many lower life forms, by many orders of magnitude.
Dave's post makes sense. Your's is totally confusing. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
No. Explain. Do you mean that a given bacterium lives longer than a human? Do you mean bacterial species live longer than a humans? Both are arguably incorrect.
You state these absolutes like they are defensible. Bill is the third richest man on Earth. While not the richest person, Bill is still extremely rich. It's kind of silly to say "No he is not." Apes - in fact - all mammals - are the very pinnacle of intelligence in the grand scheme of life on Earth. The fact that humans are at the top of that pinnacle doesn't mean the rest are not highly intelligent. Which is still orders of magnitude more intelligent than 99.99% of life on Earth.
