The differences between Aphelion and perhelion is around 5 million KMS from memory.

So the Earth is in perfect orbit around the Sun .

The orbit is elliptical and the differences between Aphelion and perhelion is around 5 million kms.

My posts are always nice and to the point. It is just that I find stupidity intolerable, and I do not like slave mentality, thats too demeaning for Human beings.

... I can't tell if you simply don't understand basic orbital mechanics, or if you are attempting to be incredibly intellectually dishonest with this...

No, obviously it is NOT a perfect orbit (at least according to your previous post):

It is elliptical, and by quite a bit.

I hope that helps clear things up?

    Mod Note -

Several off-topic posts (mostly thinly veiled insults, as well as replies to those insults) have been struck... can we at least pretend to keep it civil...

The point is that what you label as "stupidity" is simply accepted mainstream science, and what you label as "slave mentality" is those that accept mainstream as the closest to reality, and of course simply an excuse to gloss over the more pseudo aspects of some alternative claims, such as this thread and its original nonsensical inference obviously is..
You see what you need to accept as a viable member of a science forum, is that "thinking out side the box" is an admirable quality: Afterall, the BB, SR, GR were all at one time "outside the box" but over the years, the evidence, both experimental and observational, have continued to support such "out of the box" thinking.
The problem that you and I have of course, is that as lay people, we also must learn to accept that while an open mind is an admirable quality, you need to make sure that it is not that open, that your brains fall out.

Since you are not talking about wobbles, an orbit is orbit, there is no qualifier as perfect or imperfect.

Earth orbit (around Sun only, otherwise helix) is surely elliptical with eccentricity at 0.016, that makes it 'quite a bit' circular rather than 'quite a bit' ellipse.

I am talking about member's not about mainstream's.

Rather telling how you jump onto something as irrelevant as this; Essentially all orbits are just that, orbits and no need for perfect or imperfect, but all here no what was meant, which strangely and ignorantly, you side stepped....That of course being the silly claim from river that the Earth's orbit is a perfect circle.

And those member's threads and pseudoscience claims inevitabley end in the fringes, including this one.

Which obviously reflects on those members.

Again a circle is a circle. There is no qualifier as perfect circle or imperfect circle.

    Uhm... wrong.

All circles are ellipses... not all ellipses are circles. Distinctions like these are important in science.

Again, you focus on irrelevancies in relation to the meat of the argument between river and I and of course Kit...And as usual wrong to boot anyway.

Why is that? Do I really have that much of an affect on you?

Are you that burdened that you are unable to say I am right?

It's easy! Here let me show you!
"river, you are wrong: The earth's orbit around the Sun is not a perfect circle: paddoboy is correct when he says that variations in distance, between Aphelion and Perhelion, is around 5 million kms"

The Solar System is in orbit in the Milky Way so perhaps to say the orbit of Earth is a circle or indeed an ellipse would not reflect the path of the Earth through space.
I imagine the path would be better described as a stretched spring, a spiral or cork screw path.
I doubt if what I suggest is news.

Bingo! And if we take another FoR, we have our galaxy hurtling through space towards the Great Attractor, to put another spanner in the works!

We would look like a drunken sailor.
I was looking for a diagram and found something by Phil Plait which suggests he thinks the cork screw approach is wrong.
I will look into it but my phone dropped out so I must start again.
I have to go out but I can't imagine I could be wrong.

    But then maths is fun...
Leave that, it seems its difficult for you to get it that there is no perfect or imperfect qualifiers for circle or sphere in maths. Loosely speaking yes.
