Broken link (image doesn't display for me - if I had to guess, the site hosting prevents cross-linking)

I often wonder why the horse does not have a pair of horns.
They have speed but horns would be handy.
One horn would be deadly more for stabbing than a slashing movement.
If I was designing a horse I would give it a horn maybe two.
Imagine if humans had horns cage fighting would be different.

That's a great question, I was going to say that they can run fast instead, but deer can also run fast, and they have horns.

There are Unicorns in the Olympic National Park, Washington State. They have also been sighted on the San Juan Islands, Washington State.

A horse broke my leg with a kick when I was a puppy. They weigh in at 1/2 a ton and that is all muscle and bone, sometimes with a bad attitude.

Horn would just be overkill IMHO.

A horse can stomp a mountain lion to death.

They are lovely animals and they do deserve respect. I grew up on a farm, and you learn quickly animals can hurt you and you need to show them respect and kindness and most importantly you need to be smarter than your animals. That means when they do something you don't like, the first person you need to blame is yourself, not the animal.

That kind of attack has actually happened to me ,would you believe it. I was leading a female donkey away from a group of 3 males and into a separate field.

One of the boisterous males took advantage of a slip on my part to go for me and I felt his teeth at the back of the neck as I was vulnerable on the ground.

I had to release the female until I was able to put order on proceedings!

Yeah, they can be mean. Donkeys and horses have an impressive set of chops and powerful muscles to go with them. I certainly wouldn't want to be bitten by a donkey or a horse. Animals have their own personalities. If you are going to be around animals you need to know and understand them. They are big and powerful and they can do a lot of damage. My ex-wife loved horses and she got kicked in the head one day by her horse. Her horse spooked as they are wont to do. Some domesticated animals are much bigger and physically more powerful than we are. So if you are going to be around them, you need to respect that fact. If you don't, it's at your own peril.

My brother and I use to play with our livestock, and I don't remember ever getting hurt. We didn't have donkeys, but did have bulls, cows, and calves. They were fun to play with, but you've got to respect them. We use to like being chased by the bulls trying to be bull fighters, and riding calves, or more accurately, trying to ride calves. It ain't easy trying to ride a calf. It's fun, but it sure ain't easy.

Now, if you had posted a YouTube video of this, MR would be arguing it was proof that unicorns exist, contrary to the blinkered "mainstream" view......

A couple of species of extinct one-horned land-dwelling mammals lived in a time and a place where early humans could have discovered them.

One is the elasmotherium, a very large rhinoceros with a horn considerably longer than that of a modern rhino, even compared to the mammal's body. The most recent fossil, found in northwestern Asia, is dated around 30KYA, when humans had already been living there for thousands of years.
