http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-38569027 "US military tests swarm of mini-drones launched from jets" This seems pretty scary to me.Looks like an effective way to take out anti aircraft defenses. Can you imagine dog fights between opposing swarms? (China vs USA?)
Just another category of arms race in the making. Hugely expensive for the taxpayer but hugely profitable for the MIC. More worrisome again is the development of insect sized drones. In the future, anyone can be taken out without warning or much chance of post-crime evidence fingering the culprit. Of course the military of both aggressor and threatened nations will always be developing countermeasures and counter-countermeasures. And various intelligence agencies will be keen to have a slice of this pie. No such luck for any targeted civilians. One more brick being added to the Brave New World.

The Borg have arrived. 60 Minutes had the project lead describing how facial recognition is to the level that the drones can be programmed to take out specific individuals without human intervention. Right now that is not the case but it's only a matter of time before that line is crossed.
