Is there any hope of the hyperlinks in Sciforums receiving a blue or other color to indicate that status, and / or being underlined? Especially the ones that are masked as text words or passages in a post rather than the raw or obvious URL addresses (http, www).

Or is it just some peculiarity of the Firefox browser (not browsers in general) that a link in Sciforums is not highlighted / underlined until a cursor is hovering over it (i.e., no direct, non-inferred sign of that status beforehand)?

CC. You may already know... Firefox, select Tools > Options>Content > Colours . Play around with the colours in the box for unvisted links (click box to get colour chart ) and then, in the override box select ''Always''. (Note the original setting of ''Only with high contrast themes'' and colour, just in case you want to go back to it).
The overkill is that every link on a page is coloured...Even the borders of avatars, because they too are links.
I don't really recommend any of this because you lose some graphics and sites look very plain with no background colours.

I believe that the colour of links as set by forum software was lost when the forum moved.

Yeah, the remedy via browser adjustment is perhaps more annoying than the forum's own irritant of missing characteristics. After trying it out and observing the results, I remember now why I wasn't using the "Always" option. I normally even disable the default "Underline links" choice in Firefox because such is usually unnecessary, what with most websites still coloring the un-clicked links blue or whatever variation.

That's when I remember the situation changing, too. Considering the time that's elapsed since then, I guess if whoever is caring for the board tech-wise could do anything about it, they would have by now. Just started to remotely wonder if could it actually be because nobody had complained enough, though. I vaguely recollect James R sort of briefly expressing mild puzzlement over it in some thread many months back.

I always add a U to any link I make.

I'll have to go back to doing that, as welling as putting bold tags around linked text. For a while I worried that it might result in double underlining on other browsers, when I felt that the overall situation was either a Firefox oddity or the result of me de-selecting "Underline links" in Options. But the automatic underlining of links on Sciforums apparently isn't occurring for any browser (when minus the hovering cursor over them).

I think it would be easy enough to change things to underline links or put them in a different colour.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the relevant forum settings.

If this change is going to happen, we need to appeal to the site owners via Plazma Inferno.

I remember commenting on this soon after we changed the software. Still waiting on a fix...
