Ask yourself, what was satan's great sin that made GOD deny satan the privilege of being in GOD's company.

    And here:
I had always thought that it was Satan's sin that the angel Satan wished only to serve GOD, whom he loved more than life itself, and refused to obey GOD's command to serve "man".
So GOD then punished Satan by denying Satan the one thing that Satan loved, to be in the presence of GOD.

    Poor Satan.
Suffering his unrequited love led him to a hatred of mankind. (If he could not serve in heaven , he would rule on earth?----but, rule those who he hated, leading to an eternity of suffering ?)

    If memory serves:
I read the posted a long time ago, and it was from a translation of either a gnostic or a greek orthodox text.

    ............
    from wiki;
Lucifer's rebellion has been attributed to a number of motives, all of which stem from his great pride. These motives include:
("bow down" being another way of saying "serve")

Satan was a god who had the balls to say so, so another god punished him because he was the bestest bigliest one.

Only God has shown himself to be more evil.

I think he convinced a third of the heavenly host that God was unworthy to judge as he asked for bribes, pay offs or sacrifices to alter his usually good judgements.

We do not have much in scriptures about before creation but that one has a quote.

1Peter 1:20 0 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

I do not think God has shown himself as good or evil... or shown himself to be large or small or anything else. If there is one thing God does very well it is not to show himself at all... ever.

Frankly I think within the bible you can find support for whatever proposition you present.

True to most issues, but I do not see much to contradict the fact that Yahweh is a vile demiurge.

I am willing to see what you can find though.

It is said that GOD the creator created man in GOD's own image.
Man is not perfect. Man is a reflection of GOD. Would you demand something of GOD that you cannot do yourself?

Yes, if we are talking about a supernatural God.

No, if we are talking of the only Gods you and I can ever know. Ourselves.

Sorry but I wont be arguing in support or otherwise for an entity I do not believe exists.

What is it that would make you think "GOD" to be supernatural?

All a supernatural God would need do to convince the whole world is show up and do something supernatural.

As a Gnostic Christian, I follow the Jewish Karaite and Buddhist view that man is the epitome of creation and trhat if there was a God, he would come to serve man and not expect to be served by man.

One of the Jesus' in scriptures even preached that when he said he had come to serve man.

See, there's the problem with all organized religions: They expect you to serve them, and cut God out of the deal. Another reason I don't need gods to be whole.
