Well, now it's official. Trump is full of crap. Comey said today what all folks with a fully functional brain have know for some time. Obama never ordered Trump's phones to be tapped.

The shit part is that Trump supporters don't care how much he lies. I think most of them love that he's against the whole world -- doesn't matter if the conflict is started with his lies. Doesn't matter to them that he is a liar. This country is really getting f**ked up and we're losing our cred with the rest of the world. I don't think Trump will be impeached soon enough -- he will destroy this country first.

This lying POS has been described as "the boy who cried wolf!" What's going to happen when he starts telling us that N. Korea is about to send a missile our way and the US has to make a preemptive strike. How can we ever believe him?

They love how he wraps himself in the cloak of victimization. But it's difficult to see a guy born into great wealth as a victim. But that's how his devotees see him, and that's how he likes to portray himself. He likes to portray himself as Christlike. He's suffering for his devotees. It's sick. There is nothing Christlike about The Donald.

In fact, if his lies anger democrats, they consider that a good thing.
Well, republicans have a well-known issue with reality. If someone does attack us, why - that's just something to blame on Democrats, and a point in their favor.

Well, one thing getting lost in the noise is how everyone feels about the FBI Director. Congresswoman Waters, for instance, is stuck dealing with him until he's gone, but what about the Republicans who decided they really liked Mr. Comey when he broke protocol to meddle in the election? Is he "Cobama", yet? How about "Obamey"?

And it's true, I favor a thesis suggesting he's drawn so much scrutiny and pressure to himself he can't afford much for being wrong. To the other, it's also true that we have every reason to doubt him in pretty much anything he does. The problem is that Donald Trump would name his replacement. The director has six years left in his term.

Sorry, I just got knocked off track by ... well, by #BaghdadSpice.

Er ... ah ... never mind.

If his overall goal was to get a Republican other than Trump in the White House, he's right on target and progressing nicely.

I so rarely use this image. Click for distraction.

I've been hemming and hawing over this because I was trying to set up a halfway comedic bit about how badly I need that to be tinfoil, because, damn it, things just aren't supposed to go this far to Hell in these United States.

I mean, it really does feel weird to halfway nod, halfway shrug, and say, "Yeah, there's that."

(My own private tinfoil is breathtaking, so I'll leave it be until there is less question of tinfoil, which, in this case, would not be something to celebrate.)

But, yeah, a reflection on tinfoil requires a reflection on the fact that we are in a realm where it's not quite so farfetched; step two is only required because, well, yeah, Donald Trump.

Still, shiny-thing questions notwithstanding, I've still been overlooking something else:

The National Republican Congressional Committee sent out↱ a fundraising appeal this morning with a subject line that read, “Confirmed: Obama spied on Trump.” That’s demonstrably untrue, but other Republican entities have launched↱ similar fundraising efforts off of House Intelligence Committee Chairman David Nunes’ (R-Calif.) bizarre antics yesterday.

    (Benen↱)

Because ... er ... ah ... yeah, there's that, too.

Nor does this preclude; still, yeah, there's that, too.

Things going to hell in those United States: where we have an entirely apt metaphor, a bit of street theatre, a grown man playing "broom, brooom!", behind the wheel of a large vehicle which is going nowhere.

He doesn't have to tell you how the wheels go round. He can do that anytime.
