YES . . . . I SAID that! . . . .but I never referenced it to anything related in the linked article, or to the article itself. IMO, You have an overly vivid imagination!

You wrote a paragraph of words then placed a link directly beneath it. That is the convention for supplying the link from which a body of text is excerpted.

You may not have intended to imply the relationship, but that's because you were unaware of the convention. Now you know.

If you want this _____ to go away, perhaps maybe accept that your post(s) were misleading, that we have a right to challenge things we see as questionable, and maybe stop trying to defend the error.

It's up to you how fast this goes away.

Whatever, Dave . . . . . . I disagree - that is YOUR convention. . . . . . but for you to be more comfortable with my posts and better informed of my intent, I will start adding the following text, when (IMO) it is appropriate: "This comment stands alone and independent from the text of any linked document/article." (HSIRI)

It is the forum convention. Pretty much all forums.
Convention is one of the pillars of communication.
Start your own forum if you want to make your own conventions.

Dave: So, patch me thru (or reference here) to the Sciforums.com convention statement/rule regardiing this particular 'convention' . . . . Thanks! . . . . perhaps I am too unconventional for more conventional scientists!

(Humor here -->) BTW: I've participated in many conventions throughout my professional career and I agree that 'Conventions are one of the pillars of communication!' (<-- Humor here)

Bells: Can you provide me with a location for the Sciforums.com "rules" and "conventions" as indicated by DaveC, to wit, (post #29, above):

"You wrote a paragraph of words then placed a link directly beneath it. That is the convention for supplying the link from which a body of text is excerpted.
You may not have intended to imply the relationship, but that's because you were unaware of the convention. Now you know."

    THANKS! KSM (HSIRI)

There is no use of the word 'rule' in post 29. You misquote me. You do not post in good faith.

I was pretty specific about it being a convention.

You learn conventions by hanging round a place long enough to see how things are done. How to communicate with your audience.

That is, if you don't want people challenging the things you say. If you do, on the other hand, feel free to ignore any and all conventions as you see fit. There's a catch though. You forfeit the right to complain about it when people challenge you.

But if it's rules you want, they are here:
    http://www.sciforums.com/threads/sciforums-site-rules.142880/

(Notice how I provided context for the link there? See how unconfusing that is?

What you don't understand is that little mistakes like this betray and. belie your claim to higher education. Once, twice, thrice - typo, mistake, affectation. Over and. over and over... No scientist, no PhD.

You can't hide and. you can't run - ignorance pervades.

Well, HSIRI is a real (startup) company, and there's only, like, 7 of them. And those 7 are male.
KSM could be a technician. That's at least scientist-adjacent.

It's painful enough reading "her" posts. Can you imagine having to read a PhD thesis written in the "style" that "she" writes? After a few paragraphs of that crap, I'd throw the thing in the waste basket and vote "NOT APPROVED!!!"

    HA!HA!HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Every time she posts all I can think to do is this:

Bells . . . . . now, do you see what I was trying to convey in my earlier response/post to you? . . . . such tripe (above posts) is not worth responding to. . . . . Regards

Oystein: a thesis is usually presented for granting of a master's level degree . . . . I wrote/presented a "dissertation " to my commitee, it was approved, and I was granted a Ph.D. Ergo, I refer you to your comment . . . ."ignorance pervades"

Well, of course. I was knighted by the Queen last year so now you must refer to me as Sir Notsure Oystein. So there!

    Oh hell, I almost forgot . . . . HA!HA!HAHAHAHAHAHA!

(BTW, you may want to use "LOL" instead of a string of "HA"s. It will save you some keystrokes.)

    be? . . . . . please refer to my last post.

ps/I find these tirades to be slightly (!!!) off-topic. The topic of this thread is "lung cancer" . . NOT a continual slamming of fellow membesr of the forum. I agree to herewith abstain from further participation. Sciforums Admin: Please 'clean-up' your forum!!!

Indeed. I have reported already, and suggested that the whole KSM 'claim' versus 'opinion' thing be split off into another thread so that this thread can continue to be about lung cancer.

Thanks for your efforts, but I won't participate in the recommended KSM 'claim' vs 'opinion' thread . . . . there are other, more constructive, issues that interest me. Regards!

Yes, I also do herein and hereby and herewith and hereabouts and heretofore agree to thoroughly and completely abstain from any further participation, so help me God!
