What oceans or seas have you walked or stood beside? Those seen from a plane not counted.
Also, what great rivers and lakes?

Pacific (very often) and Atlantic (less often). That's about it.

Atlantic, Pacific, Indian oceans and Caribbean, Baltic, Arabian, Irish & North seas, but on the rivers: only Rhine (Rijn and its distributaries), Rhone/Saone, Danube, Volga and Mississippi. I assume the Thames and Seine don't make the cut. I regret never having seen either the Amazon or the Nile, so far at least. I'm less anxious to see the Ganges or the Yangtze, for some reason.

Lakes: Ontario, Superior, Michigan, Leman (Geneva), Bodensee (Constance), Annecy, Maggiore, Como ......and our own Loch Lomond.

By Norths seas do you include Norwegian and Barents?

The Thames does make the cut because it's one of my great three.

Oceans... Pacific, Atlantic.
Seas... Norwegian and Barents.
Rivers... Columbia River, took a stern paddlewheel steamboat ride. Colorado River from top of south rim Grand Canyon. And the mighty Thames.
Lakes...Crater Lake Oregon.

 

No just the standard North Sea, i.e. between Germany and the Low Countries to the East and GB to the West. When we lived in The Hague, we used to walk on the beach at Scheveningen. It's a bloody cold sea, though.

I made a short trip on a steam-driven Mississippi stern paddle steamer once, at New Orleans. Interesting to compare the engine with the quite different triple-expansion engine in P S Waverley side paddle steamer, on the Firth of Clyde. Nothing like that on the Thames - just a lot of people like me rowing on it in racing shells.

 

I've seen the Pacific Ocean. The greatest rivers I've seen are the Fraser, the Columbia and the Saskatchewan.

 

I guess that if we are going to include rivers, I have quite a few, all in North America- Sacramento, San Joaquin, Columbia, Willamette, Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, St. Lawrence, Potomac, Red (between TX and OK), Delaware, Hudson, Wabash and many more. Even the poor Humboldt, which flows (trickles is more like it) through northern NV, before it evaporates entirely in a dry lake.

 

I have walked beside the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Lake Erie, and the Delaware River.

Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, Indian, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of California, Mediterranean, (from Australia) pretty much all the Great Lakes.

 

Count what has been ventured into only:
salt large: Atlantic at Far Rockaway (with the poem in hand), Pacific off the Olympic Peninsula and the long beach near Homer;
fresh large: Superior and Michigan of the Great Lakes, Rainy Lake, Mississippi River various;
fresh notable: Mississippi headwater lake (and neighboring hike-ins, nicer), Mustinka River in MN (a headwater marsh said to straddle the continental divide), Bad Medicine Lake, Minnesota River various (drainage valley of Glacial Lake Agassiz), Louisa Falls and ShirNan Lake in Quetico (among many), Twin Lake in the good days, Saint Louis River, hot springs along the north end of the Yellowstone River, and three named lakes on Isle Royale, including Siskiwit.

Siskiwit is the largest lake on Isle Royale. It has a couple of islands - therefore a largest one, Ryan. As it turns out, there is standing water on Ryan Island, at times. One can become wet. Afterwards, one can have a T-shirt printed thus:

in the largest lake
in the world"

A consuming Envy is the appropriate reaction.
