I don't know about you , but I because cannot harm people because I intent to obey Gods command " Love thay fellow man as yourself.

It depends on your standard of morality in marriages . What about the children upbringing. Those who remarry , for me is the question why did they god divorced, is it because they have done an immoral act
by betraying one the other contract and went into adultery ?

I don't care what they wear , Is your kind ( not particularly you as a person ) who get excited when a woman wearing clothing and expose herself , causes man to get sexualy exited and as a concequence man act inapropiately .

Definitely. My standards are honesty, respect and support for the other person.
Right. Or he could get angry because of her hijab and attack her. Or he could get angry because she is wearing a cross and behead her. None of those are acceptable - and none are excuses that make his actions any more OK.

Sounds like the OP is the 'fake' one. Branding people 'filth' because they don't fit into whatever mindset they feel is 'correct' is reductive to the extreme.

How about this; instead of pretending to be a 'happy' 'positive' person (who in fact is a person teeming with rage), just be yourself, and when you are confronted with something inappropriate - continue to be yourself and challenge the person or situation, don't carry on pretending that you are happy and positive when you or not, or you will become one of those deluded people who are actually very angry but pretend they are not by reading lots of 'self help books'.

The world is a beautiful place - its also a terrible place, and a dangerous place, that is simply a fact of life that cannot be changed, but we can choose to focus on the positive, whilst acknowledging and DEALING with the negative when it occurs - pretending negative things do not or 'should not' exist is both childish and ignorant.

So by all means be happy and positive, but deal with inappropriate (and negative) things as and when they occur, and then get back to being happy, rather than seething and stewing in your own negative thoughts and wishing negative things didn't exist. And remember your perspective on life has a direct effect on what you will experience, if you think most of the human race is 'filth' then that is what you are going to experience (even in 98% are 'good and 2% are 'bad).

    I wish you well.

what you say is true but i was referring to harassment toward women. read between the lines feller. it's pervasive and evidently im not pretending it doesn't exist and no, thinking positively doesn't protect you from such things. in fact, looking unapproachable or mean works much better in those cases. realistically, positive does not always work because positive can also attract negative depending on what someone's motives are.

and 98% are good and 2% are bad is unrealistic. it depends on what that specific good or bad is because all good or all bad doesn't fit neatly into just one or the other. if it really was just 2% then it would rarely be an issue like being struck by lightening.

that 98% is extremely generous and untrue but i understand it's better to see the world that way because, as you say, it can make one unhappy or depressed. my job is to be a pessimist and interject the uglies people filter out for those who go around wearing rose-tinted glasses.

ya know when everybody accepts crap and garbage, then everything is automatically considered good except for the usual things such as murder and rape? that's still taboo for the most part. at least for now. lol

Oh I agree sexism is pervasive, but it pervasive both ways - with a whole lot of hypocrisy.

For instance you get the diet coke adverts with semi naked attractive men, and it's completely acceptable mainstream above-board, and I've yet to hear of a feminist complain about it. But when a semi naked attractive woman decides to take money and flaunt their sexuality in an advert we are told this is 'exploitation' (despite the fact they are paid vast sums of money) and that men should feel guilty about looking at such things.

Case in point: a man with a six pack came on T.V the other day while my wife and her friends where around, they all whooped and said 'cor!' whilst not so long prior, a similar advert featuring a scantly clad woman came on and my wife felt compelled to 'pretend' to cover my eyes, whilst her friends said (jokingly) "close your mouth, stop gawping".

And regarding harassment, I've seen workmen wolf whistle at women yes, but have you even seen a 'hen party' pass a semi attractive man and not seen anything worse called out?

What's good for the good is good for the gander.

?? Right. Feminists stand up for women's rights, not men's rights. I mean, feminists don't make a big stink over the incompetence of Martin-Thiokol which lead to the deaths of seven astronauts. Does that mean that they hate astronauts and want to see them die fiery deaths? No, it's just not the sort of thing they protest.
Right. And you might be offended by that. You then have the right to complain. Likewise, a similar ad showing scantily clad women might cause a room full of male college students to hoot and holler, and a woman or a feminist there might complain.
Agreed. But that doesn't make it right.

Hmm, interesting, quite a few feminists I have spoken to have been very adamant that feminism is about equality for all, not just for women. They even have articles like this to show how feminism benefits men:

    http://www.gwennseemel.com/index.php/blog/comments/feminism_men_feminisme_hommes/
    https://mic.com/articles/88277/23-ways-feminism-has-made-the-world-a-better-place-for-men#.Vnu6gD1b6

I do notice however that feminism is completely embraced as mainstream and acceptable whilst the 'mens' rights" movement is regarded as laughable and silly. (I bring this up due to the aforementioned disparity regarding sexuality in adverts: Women looking at men "its just a laugh" men looking at women "it's exploitation").

    An interesting topic.

    Can a woman be scared?

Does testosterone count as a chemical imbalance?

That's a great approach. But the definition of feminism is advocacy for women's rights based on the concept of equality of the sexes. That being said, a feminist can surely advocate for men's rights (or religious rights, or sexual orientation rights, or minority rights) and such advocacy would be in line with the core concepts of feminism.
Agreed; it often is, since women as a group have historically been the victim of oppression (and indeed violence) far more often than men have. That's now changing, and thus men's rights groups are slowly gaining legitimacy.

    That's silly, does estrogen?

From a real life perspective, growing up in the 80's there was a man living around the corner from me who was regularly beaten by his wife. We often saw him crying outside his door with a bloody nose with his wife laughing at him.

I have to admit, I laughed too, how on earth was this guy being beaten up? he was twice the size of her, and me (being the grand old age of 12) along with all the neighbours, all laughed along with it.

It was not until much later when I learnt about autism ect, that I realised that it wasn't that this guy was defenceless (he could have knocked his wife down in one punch, that's what was so 'funny' to us - and to the police to that attended occasionally (due to phone calls from neighbours, yes the police laughed too). It was the fact he was not a violent person, but she was - I found out about 20 years later this guy was autistic (it wasn't really acknowledged in the north of England in the 80's) and that he was pretty much being abused (and not helped by people like me who thought it was 'funny')

His wife eventually got jailed for hitting another woman - but she never once got even a caution for hitting her husband.

I think for the world to be a fair place, we have to forget about the past (although learn from it) and if we want equality, it really has to work both ways - not based upon the past, but upon the here and now.

Why do you think I would make such a comment?

Did you not see the 'smiley' indicating it was a joke?

You said: "I'm not in the process of beating people up"

I said: "Are you just in the planning stage then ?

Does this really need in depth discussion?

I have not called you a moron beer, and forgive me if I have implied that you are a moron.

But perhaps we can get back to the gist of the thread?

So far your contribution to some heartfelt posts have been:

    "Can a woman be scared?
Does testosterone count as a chemical imbalance?"

"Yeah, well I'm not in the process of beating people up."

Do you have anything else to contribute other than some 'one liners'?

    So, I'm not a moron?

And, Sigmund Freud, would agree that one liners can count.
