Okay, there is no convincing you or me. I dont agree but i will go with my intuition on this subject as maybe some things are not meant to be known as real as its may pose more dangers to society if people did know the secrets of these arts as many might be irresponsible with it. But i do know they can and have relayed messages that were not random but something spiritual or supernatural coming through is the only way to describe it, at least for now.

Fine. But recognise that you're throwing out rationality in favour of your "intuition" when you decide to do that.

The cards are a reflective manifestation of thoughts/consciousness. That's how it works. Yes, when you aren't focusing on any type of question seriously, it will turn up random cards which have no story or connection but when you do focus with intent, it's eerie how laser accurate it can be. yes, amazingly it is responding (the actual physical cards) to your query from the time you shuffle and to the unknown cards you pick. your subconscious is doing the real work. that's why it turns up cards based on your focus and query very accurately. it is also physics whether people realize it or not.

information is never lost, it all exists out there somehow and that is why i was blown away with the it's ability to answer questions that were not even of my time. many people seem to think that the invisible consciousness cannot affect matter but it does also.

consciousness can go beyond just affecting others emotionally, spiritually and mentally but also move events or what some call serendipidity, destiny or fate. again, whether people realize they are doing that or not. some do and do it intentionally. some of it maybe positive or negative depending on who is trying to manifest what and what there intent is. people are putting forth energy and thoughts out there constantly, again, whether they realize it or not which affect others just as much as themselves. this is the collective consciousness. this is also why you can walk into a room full of people and can get a sense of the 'emotional' climate as well as other unspoken energies or even sometimes thoughts you can pick up/read.

That's why I keep my Tin Foil hat on at all times

    Even when asleep

I don't want my thoughts at anytime to manifest anything bad for anybody

I especially don't want Tarot cards picking out the future from my thoughts

The poor client has paid what? $20 $25

My 3 neurones are worth a $1 each at best

    Readings from them 20 cents

No I didn't realise it was physics. Please provide a link to something which supports your amazing assertions here. I mean a link to something scientific, not some crackpot pseudoscience site.

It could be because the meanings assigned to the cards are rather vague and wide. So, you can make up a story in your head that fits the cards that come up.

I agree with this. The cards turned up are random, but the story you invent in your head comes from you.

How would you test that? Physics is science, and science is testable and reproducible.

Again, it could be a good idea to test whether the invisible consciousness can affect matter or not. What do you actually mean by that, anyway? Are you talking about a kind of mystical, magical effect, or just the consciousness causing you to act in a certain way, which affects things and people around you in the ordinary way?

If you're saying that consciousness can alter what would otherwise be random outcomes, through some kind of non-contact magic, then I have to say I don't think it can do that.

"Energy" is a vague word. People do put out all kinds of subtle signals with their body language, their words and their actions, and all of those can affect other people.

What I want to know is whether they can give me winning lottery numbers and the names of new companies like Apple and Google before they go public.

For centuries divination has promised to foretell the future. Fortune-telling was huge in the ancient world. But it never seems to reveal anything useful or important.

I'll start believing in it if I ever see plausible evidence of somebody really knowing events before they occur.

Not to be pedantic, but we don't really know this unless we did a cross-comparison between
    - tarot-followers vs. non-followers
    with
    - those who had statistically-significant success vs. those who did not.

There's nothing that says a Tarot-reader must use his knowledge to achieve historically-documented fame and/or fortune.

Nor is there anything to suggest its foretelling must be so reliable and efficacious as to predict and dodge very natural or artificial historical disaster.

Heck, financial advisors are (arguably) better than random picks for making wise investments - but no one says "I'm not a billionaire; it must be bunk."

Yes! If you use tarot cards, you probably have no future.

Well, you'll have a future as long as "there's a sucker born every minute".

There are times when the best strategy, the best advice, the best approach, is random selection from what can work.

You need two things difficult to arrange:
    1) an exhaustive collection or library of what can help or work in complex situations of the kinds not amenable to simple analysis: let's call that a body of wisdom.
    2) a method of random selection from it that entrains enthusiasm, that "feels right" so that you are ready and willing to act accordingly, let's call that authority.

If you have that, you have something valuable. Respect it.

As with the placebo effect: it's foolish to reject the benefits on the grounds of a shallow logic.

A random selection of what can work???

Your joking and it's not even 1st April

First the statement suggest you have identified what ever the problem is

Next it presumes you have a selection of options

Next you don't go for the best solution you go for a random selection

    ?????? speechless

    This is a paradoxymoron.

If you're choosing by "what feels right", so much so that you're pulling from a body of wisdom - and you've given it a label of authority ...

    ... then it's not random.

It's kind of the exact opposite of random.

I see your point. I'm reminded of William S. Burroughs' cut up method. Sometimes random chance is a better creator than deliberation. The trouble is mistaking this for the supernatural. You have to be willing to disrespect it when it's the source of bad ideas.
