Hm, curious - what thread did I start? I merely merged a number of GIA's threads into one to keep the woo contained (much like was done with the "Everlasting Theory" threads, and what had previously been done with Victor Esperenza's threads, so there is also precedence for doing so).

If you or MR have some concern with that, I would recommend taking it up with the Administration.

Looks to me like you blended together his threads and retitled it as one thread in a disparaging way and moved it to alternative theories. That's what you do when you can't win an argument. You abuse your moderator power. It's pathetic..

I'll PM James R and Bells.

I come to these places looking for good minds.

I am pleased to meet you and yours.

You have read me right even though I lack your eloquence.

What you have expressed is all true but I would like to point out that our myths were wrten to put against the Christian myth at a time when everyone accepted that all the Gods were mythical and that no one could actually know anything about anything in the imaginary supernatural world.

Christianity screwed things up when they became an idol worshiping cult instead of the God seeking people that Jesus advised to seek God. They ignore that Jesus never said, seek me.

I dislike the immoral idol worshiping cults but do not mind the ones who promote seeking knowledge and wisdom. Most spiritual people I know do not believe in any deity and work at seeking the best rules and laws to live life by.

Since I have a good mind reading this, I would like to bounce something off you, If I may.

Many see only one Jesus in scriptures. I see more than on Jesus talking in the scriptures. One, the Rome created one, wants to enslave us to religions. The one I like has better morals than the one spoken of in this link.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUfGRN4HVrQ&t=117s

That Jesus I do not like for moral reasons other than what that link shows.
For instance, Jesus' no divorce policy which prevents people in abusive or loveless relationships from seeking a loving partner. I also dislike his substitutionary atonement policy which says that we have to accept the punishment of the innocent instead of the guilty to be saved.

The Christ I like is the one the church never teaches. Here is what that Jesus says.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

This link expands on this and shows a Jesus that wants to free us from organized religion.

Which Jesus do you prefer? If Jesus even existed that is.

If I recall correctly, I asked our friend to speak of the morality of his God but he deflected from it and I would like a decent mind to judge my conclusions for his benefit more than mine although I have been wrong before.

    Regards
    DL

*shrug* you are, of course, entitled to your opinion, just as others are entitled to dismiss it.

I see what you put as a lie. Get the quote or accept that label as true.

I like "ranting doomsday preacher" Jesus best of all. He even suffered the grandiose delusion that as the Son of Man he would descend with his angels and burn up all the people who didn't follow him. A basic David Koresch cult mentality if there ever was one.

Our friend is like God. That God says do not kill, yet kill even innocent babies, and when I mention that is a sin, theists say no because God owns us and can do whatever he wants to us.

He is a do as I say and not as I do kind of God, yet Christians still adore that prick of a God.

I would use the older Gnostic Christian term of demiurge, but today, most do not recognize that term so I am left with prick.

I agree. A poster, just today, chastised me for my thinking when he could not refute anything of what I put, and said I would get my just deserts when Jesus returned.

Seems that he never wondered if Jesus would cure instead of kill the way his more satanic alter ego Yahweh does.

And Jesus is supposed to be meek and mild but I guess that is not good enough for Christians so they turn him into the prick his father is shown to be. Oh well.

I did, in fact, merge them together - after all, they had a similar note about them (eg, that GIA feels his personal religion to be superior, that he wants to preach about it, and that he wants to rant about the perceived slights of other religions).

    Have fun

"The argument does not hold, however, for any of the major religions, which regard both natural and moral law as immutable"

    Interesting.

If God's laws are immutable, I am thinking here of scripture that have God saying that he never changes and never changes his mind, ---- and Jesus said he came to serve man, ---- why do Christians all say we have to serve God?

I would not ban him either but would perhaps have his boss look at why he banned others, if he did that is.

Already did - but I'll repost a few for giggles:

You have repeatedly asserted that you are "better" than most everyone here... to the point that you have gone so far as to tell at least two other members that it is not worth your time to attempt to understand what they are saying:

I prefer to let the evidence speak for itself. You can get off your supposed moral high-horse and join the rest of us "mere mortals" now

If you do not believe/accept the idea of Trinity, then of course this would be confusing to you. The idea remains that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one. Thus, Following Jesus is Following God.

That is an image that always makes me laugh... Jesus, meek and mild? Some thin, emaciated, shrimp of a person?

No, he was a carpenter. He would have been quite muscular, especially given the lack of such modern things as power tools - working all day with a Chisel and Hammer. He would have been buff.

He also wouldn't be Caucasian, so there is that as well.

Your original words were ------ if you can say with a straight face that you think a person can honestly believe that they are morally superior to everyone

Nowhere above do I see anywhere where I include everyone.

Thanks for showing everyone here that you are such a liar that you do not even recognize when you lie.

I hope the poster who threatened to report you does as your intellectual and moral level does not serve this site well.

I agree, but a complaint from me would only bring more name calling and idiocy.

I bothered to report the one post where he proves he lied and putting lies in my mouth so I will wait to see if the rest of the mods are as ------------- as he is.
