Pence knows he can't even give the appearance of interest in his own political career while serving as Trump's yes man. Thus the rather strained and overdone denial of the possibility. He was "disgusted" and "offended" at the mere suggestion. Sounds like someone's muzzle is too tight.
I don't think you're being fair. The Pence buzz largely has to do with fundraising, and the simple fact is that he's going to need it for legal bills.
And Trump has said he had no dealings with the Russians. LOL The difference is that the only people who know what Pence is or isn't mulling as goes a 2020 bid for POTUS is Pence, his wife and perhaps a handful of other close confidants who aren't at the moment talking. I'll believe Pence's attestation when, in 2020, he's not running for the GOP nomination or presidency.
