If anyone reading this comes across some better pictures or tracings of this artifact, please post same.
Few minutes Google found this https://digventures.com/2017/11/found-pictish-carving-of-man-with-spear-and-shaved-head/ Ho hum Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
So that curved bit is the back of his head? https://www.thecourier.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2017/10/Pictish-stone-find.jpg Zoom in on this pict. (Pun intended.)
It would be more helpful if you cut out from the picture the area you wish us to check out and just post that section with your question Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Like this I cut out the section I think you mean Did a bit of adjustment with the colour and light Looking at the head in profile Over the left shoulder On right shoulder a stick of some sort The small + seems to be a reference mark on the photo at the back of the neck about the hairline Is this the part you referenced? The picture I linked is a line drawing reproduction of the carving, very clear. I zoom in on the image and the orientation is obvious. And there's only so much I can do on a cell phone, sorry.
I went to link but the pic I got was not a line drawing. Was the stone and someone with 3 sheet paper Think the orientation the man standing I cut the section out and played with the contrast brightness and sharpness my phone Huawei RIO Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
One of those drawings is the Rhynie Man for comparison. http://www.scotshistoryonline.co.uk/rhman.html
Now you have a few, which to me seem to support the expert, what now? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Really? You can see all that was claimed in the posted enlargements of the 2 available pictures? Can you see details in the shown tracings?
You expect to see fine detail on a photo and to apply (non existent?) interpretation skills to parts that may be missing?
The line drawings with Mark's pointing finger are definitely NOT of the artifact in question. When I posted: "If anyone reading this comes across some better pictures or tracings of this artifact, please post same." Perhaps, I was unclear in that--------------what I meant was If anyone comes across some different better pictures of this artifact taken with controlled light and filters please post same. Especially, quality pictures or tracings of the ill defined/portrayed portions of this artifact. (which would include the front of the body and head). What we have in the 2 available pictures does not support nor invalidate the claims of mark hall. I remain less than satisfied by the opinion of the archaeologist and supporting pictures.
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I don't think their tracings. The new find is not wearing a 'skirt' like the figures in the sketches in the photo.
Which by the way I have not seen said opinion of the archaeologist or the supporting pictures Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
