Thanks very much for that Q-reeus...

I cherry picked this from your first link....
......creates a force pushing inwards on the matter. This force, Verlinde shows, is similar to the force normally attributed to dark matter – which pulls in normal matter from its additional gravitational mass.

That alone I find most satisfying irrespective if he is correct or not...

Sorry wasn't me which had a two extra days holiday but the girlfriend
I'm here until 9th December unless volcano plays up around that time

Not had much extra thought about gravity except the "pressure" of gravity at the far reaches of each object in contact with the closest other object is experiencing less contact as expansion takes place

This of course goes against the "attraction" of gravity. Why the expansion is happening in my mind is because the explosive force of the Big Bang has not been expended. With nothing to counteract the explosive force the bits and pieces of the Universe remain in the acceleration mode

Following this mode no attractive gravity will come about sufficiently enough to turn expansion back to compression

Denpasar airport returning to Darwin. Volcanic ash drifting over airport high enough to cause problems

I though for a moment I had it wrong and you were still in Darwin but as you are not what's the hurry to get back or are you under threat of a Pompeian ending?
    Otherwise enjoy maybe

I might interject a postscript to my previous post in this Thread as to how ether can account for gravity.

My Ether Model proposes that a universal ether came about when a symmetrical, purely-oscillational, "first world," consisting of oscillatory point-localities (between the oscillating points non-oscillatory space provided the necessary room for the oscillations). The points that were oscillating underwent oscillational fatigue, producing Yin-Yang pairings of elemental oscillatory units. These "points" then necessarily would have had to undergo reversible reversion to singleton elementary points, which the broke the symmetry of first-world space, which transitioned the first world of oscillating elemental points to a new spatial world now consisting of elemental ether units, and intervening empty space which had previously provided the space needed for oscillation. Everything existing in space from then on would be fundamentally composed of elemental ether units.

Later, this unstructured, matrix-like ether-world was changed to the present quantum-structured world which contains solid bodies subject to gravitational attraction.

The way this fits together as an ether model of gravity involves the concept of a universal "elemental ether unit continuum," in which all the atoms and quantum units have been built up via entrainment of elemental ether units. Thus, all atoms and quantum units retain their connection with the (identical) elemental ether units all around them in the ether matrix. All these elemental ether units are elemental and thus identical, and in contact with each other. (This is the only way to rationally explain Quantum Entanglement.)

When two solid bodies are being attracted toward each other gravitationally, what is happening at the elemental level is that the elemental ether units making up the atoms of the bodies (which are at a higher-energy state, by being inside the body's atoms) continue to interact with identical (but lower-energy) elemental ether units in the "auric" space between the two bodies. (This can be described as an "elemental ether-unit-continuum"), which causes the ether units in the auric space zone near the two bodies to become more energized, which tends to pull the ether units toward each other, contracting the tiny spaces between ether units in this "auric" zone. Thus, the ether in this zone constricts, which pulls the two bodies toward each other gravitationally.

Although I hate maths have you any calculations this layman could appreciate to explain your model?
I'm the first to admit I do not have any maths to describe my idea of gravity being a repulsion force except to "reverse", if it is feasible perhaps, the maths in attraction model

    Hi Michael
Thank you for your contribution to the thread.
It seems that you have put a great deal of time into your proposition.
Does your model have dark matter?

    At last a break through.
My model relies on math that hasn't been invented yet and observations that are open to alternate conclusions but other than that and the fact it has been thrown out one hundred years ago seems pretty good so far...

Look you would not fall down because you are attracted to the planet so clearly if you find yourself on the ground you are the victim of push gravity...

Pushing gravity is nothing new .

George-Louis LeSage had a pushing gravity theory . In 1748 and before him Nicolas Fatio de Duillier in 1690 .

    I
first came across this theory from ; Tom Van Flandern , in his book , Dark matter , Missing Planets and New Comets . About 10yrs ago .

    Ummmm yes I see

How about considering my puny push gravity field is wholly encased within the massive Earth gravity field. Effectively I become part of the Earth gravity field. Sort of adding to the mass but not in a fixed static way

Interaction still occurs between my puny and the massive Earth field. The most interaction takes place in the regions of closest contact ie in the standing position my feet and the ground under my feet

This small region would be the area of most neutralization (a weakened part)

Areas further away ie my head and the mass of the Earth a short distance from the ground beneath my feet are still pushing us together

So it could be the Earth mass is trying to push a tiny weakened region over my feet while my puny body gravity field is trying to push me into the same tiny weakened region

Yes a victim of push gravity.

Could this idea sort of explain why gravity seems weak compared to other physics forces?

    Thank for that River.
I took the opportunity to read up on Nicholas Fatio De Duillier again to refresh my limited recollection of what I read years ago.

What a man (little funny on believing someone may come from the dead) with a long list of achievement and contribution.

I think he was a pal of Newton?
Well Newton was rather productive as well, his list wow...a model for gravity that is used for space flight, calculus, a telescope which is close to and certainly the forerunner of the Hubble Space Telescope...
Its a pity it was not called the Newton Space Telescope and give him credit...
And didn't Newton come up with some special banking ideas.

It may be Nicholas talked to Newton about his proposition for the mechanics of gravity.

    Yes of course.
Look push gravity is so good understanding how it works could aid in understanding how to cure the common cold.
If you could compress some matter sufficient to have it substantially block this gravity flow I suspect you would get a huge explosion so in that case it would manifest as a rather strong force.
It can be used for whatever you like really it has been discarded so feel free to play with it.

Are you still waiting to leave?

Thought about the KITAS scheme (a Indonesian visa plan)
Not yet fleshed out the details although what I do understand is Australia requires you to be away no longer than 6 weeks or, while you don't loose pension, you do loose extended benifits like Medicare
Not sure want to cut that umbilical cord
Expats I chat with here fly back every 6 weeks, spend a day in Australia, which seems enough to fulfill requirement for keeping Medicare. Go figure. Is this a evil plot to keep airlines operating? Used to be every 3 month waa the requirement not 6 weeks
