I have tell you the truth I am writing a book designed to explain everything and present a model to achieve enlightenment and I have just been quoting passages that covered exactly the issues presented to us for consideration.
I got most of it written just by cutting out sentences in the newspaper and adding all the information from all newspapers and made one sentence andxplayed it backwards and I realised I had stumbled on how they write speeches in Canberra.

What are you giving your milk to taste and what do you find amusing about how it does it?

And the day after tomorrow is your sun god day and the day my Foxtel TV is restored

    No

I would have thought your mastery of logic would have found a clue in the title

    http://www.sciforums.com/

but I will concede you are in a religious thread

If you wish to marry religion with Science (or vise versa) you need to improve your post by a few thousand%

Now there's an idea I will cut up scientific papers mix them up cosmology horse farming and the largest discovery if a planet that could have life.
Or perhaps string together a few bible reading with mixed with medical news and cage fighting grunts.
I think there is a wide open market for nonsense.
And you get to wear a funny hat.

We may need to see, which is primary and which is secondary in this forum--Religion or science?

There need be no rivalry both seek in some way a reality or truth or description of a universe they see and as they will see only that becomes their actual universe but I am sure a person who has a religious faith wants the truth and by approach via scientific method we can give explanation of matters that well are fact.
So a somewhat scientific approach is needed to separate fact from belief and although that should be simple and one limits to baby steps to be sure of your footing one will find that that facts and belief which is after all opinion and opinion should be questioned not only by the person blessed with you presenting your opinion but indeed yourself should question also as it is after all opinion and its not to think one is right or wrong but to sift through and evaluate what is certain and what is as an opinion of what you can be certain of and can you balance what find before you.

Yes but everyone will ultimately need absolute truth. It is not necessary, even 99% truth can not become 0% truth. So whoever tell truth, faith or science, unless it is absolute, it can not be taken as truth. Science advocators anticipate science is neither absolute and final not it can ever be. Then, how to depend on science without taking risk?

One thing we've all realized after following this thread is that there can be no fringe section for religion.

Science uses models to describe observed processes which are not presented as truth but as the best we can understand up to the present.
The opinions are arrived at by a process designed test the idea but in some sense are interpretations but these opinions should not form a belief in so far as they ate not open to challenge and or replacement.
Religious texts are not subject to change or replacement even when evidence is available to tell us that they are wrong.
So there is appeal in the science approach because it may be changed of and when it is found to be wrong.

No, I am saying the exact opposite.
Nothing was created for a purpose. Life is an emergent property of organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is an emergent property of physics.

(The only things created for a purpose are things created by Mankind.)

What for edible fruit pulp is created? What for nector, colours, good smell to a flower is created? What for milk is created? Are these not natural creation for a purpose of seed dispersal, pollination and child nurshing?

No no no. They are the result of evolution (more homework for you but I doubt you will do it)
As Dave said they are emergent (ie haphazard) evolution properties
    If something works it stays
If it doesn't work it doesn't stay

What are your views on this worm which can live in the eye?

Well explained. Yes but potential severity of side effects from any understanding matter most in this respect. One understanding, which is not absolute as of now, can have much side effects if proven odd in subsequent understanding whereas other not absolute but claimed absolute, may have least or lesser side effects even proven false. Former will matter more than later in odd and practical sense. So this factor is very important to be accounted alongwith. Moreover beneficial effects from any faith can be obtained depending on magnitude of faith, may it be blind or real. Mostly, all religions who suggested very seriously, supernatural and miracles, should had done it with good intention of enhancing faith and religious practices in real benefit of its followers without undue side effects. Hence practically, we can base what benefits we get without undue odds without doubt. Otherwise, if we shall doubt it, we may not get it and this too free from undue cost and side effects. Base the pulp of fruit, leave the rest.

If you believe in God, and you believe that flora and fauna were created for various purposes, then I don't see that there is really anything to discuss.

That belief is essentially a catch-all for anything and everything under the sun "God wanted it that way."

It kind of causes one to ask you: "Why do you have any questions about anything at all?" You've got an answer for it.

    What am I missing?

    I can see your point.
On probably needs a kind of faith in a positive outcome but surely that can be achieved without recourse to religion.
The key is to be able to separate faith from analysis.
As I said hard to do but really there is no sensible alternative if one is to find what no doubt you will call truth and once you establish a reality not built in faith you can step back and glimpse reality but always remember one only gets a glimpse many questions will remain unanswered but avoid answering them with a faith based conclusion certainly if you seek to claim your approach scientific and even if you present your idea as philosophy that discipline will require a like approach where faith is perhaps not helpful and understanding that philosophy requires something more as well, but unfortunately I can't help you on what that might be but if you post in the philosophy forum you will still probably get answers that request a certain approach devoid of faith based argument.

I believe in faith. Imagine a world without faith, flora and fauna. Then it shall just be Barron land like on many planets. Do you suggest it?
