I don't recall you saying the ghost did speak to me. I do recall I think I'm going to drop out Can't play any game where rules change between post in the thread Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Aha. I was born and bred a Catholic and still regard the church and its traditions with affection, even though I stopped believing in most of it in my 30s. Science was never a problem to reconcile with it, but living in the Middle East and travelling to many countries where other beliefs were held, with equal or stronger conviction, made me realise the absurdity of thinking that we were right and they must all be wrong! I have nonetheless brought my son up Catholic, because I consider it important for him to understand European culture and to know the beliefs and traditions that have shaped it and which are the subject of so much of its history, art and literature. He is half French. And I am a choral singer, so I love the music, including the Gregorian chant (I taught myself to read the neumes when we were living in The Hague.) There is a consoling sense of timelessness in singing something like Attende Domine which is a thousand years old, a sense of perspective and continuity with all these people down the ages who have sung or listened to it and had just the same joys and cares as we do now. Our parish priest was a great friend to me when my wife was dying - never pushed faith at me but was a peaceful, calming presence - and he gave her a good funeral. So my son and I are "cultural" Catholics, I suppose. So there you go. Maybe it's an old man's perspective: I've given up trying to make everything logically consistent.
I said what I said to get you to consider the possibilities available, leave ghosts on the table if you wish but include all the reasonable explanations you can come up with. And certainly if you find someone in your bedroom demand that they explain why they are there. Alex

Probably astronomical! Are you sure it was trying to communicate with you? Maybe it was just mumbling to itself while looking for it's keys.
Ghosts are supposedly attached psychologically to specific places, reflecting unresolved issues. Maybe it has a key to a door it can't find.
Hearsay? How was it then capable of moving curtains? Anyways, the spook was behind the curtains having climbed through the window, it had lost its keys. This explains why others heard things, the ghost had to check other windows to find an open one.
I've seen them walk though doors and I saw it move a curtain. Observable evidence, the best kind. Sometimes I go through the front door of my house, sometimes I go around to the back. Ghosts are no different. They have preferences.
No, I make up silly stories. You didn't say several people saw a ghost. In your OP, you said... ''some of them saw the curtains moving ''. You said ''I saw the shape of a human'', nothing about the others seeing that shape? When it's not just a case of someone's say-so.
From Paddoboy Post 7 The word faith is usually is usually used in contexts lacking evidence supporting some belief. From a previous post of mine Remarks similar to the above are typical of definitions of faith. From Seattle Post 4 Hallucination is one explanation, which I consider likely. The memory of a very impressive dream, typically is another .explanation, especially when the dream is interrupted due to awakening. I have several times awakened from dreams of my late father in contexts which occurred after his death & for a few seconds believed the events to be real. While it never happened to me, I can imagine waking from an impressive dream that could be true & believing that it was a true memory of some forgotten event. I would expect an outright lie to be an explanation for some Posters here, but I would not make such an accusation, since I would not accuse an acquaintance well known to be a liar & I have little knowledge of your reliability. BTW: In literature paranormal is a word used to refer to fictional events.
