    I said similar earlier.
Can you imagine someone coming here who is even an armchair scientist being met with this thread.
Probably never see that person again.
I like the fringe forum but it sucks when it manifests here.
And of course the problem is there are so few posts I guess any thread is a good thread.
Hope you have a great Xmas.

    Seattle:

I'll take your opening post at face value for now, rather than assuming you're trying to set people up for some kind of demonstrative "fall" in this thread.

    Questions:

    1. Are you aware of any particular cause for your waking up?
    2. What makes you doubt that it was a normal human behind the curtain?
    3. Why do you rule out the wind, or similar, as a cause of the movement of the curtains?
    4. What gave you the impression it was trying to tell you something? What did it actually do to indicate that it was trying to tell you something?

Something has to be repeatable in order to do what? What outcome are you looking for here?

    5. Did these other people describe "the shape of a human" behind the moving curtains, too, or did they describe just a movement of the curtains? Was that before or after you told them about your human-shaped movement?
    6. What reasons did the other people give for not sleeping well? Any particular reason?
    7. How did these people describe the "strange noises"? What were the noises like? What was strange about them?
    8. Did you also hear "strange noises"? What did you hear?
    9. Describe the motion of the curtains that you observed.

If you did, presumably you wouldn't be asking for possible explanations on an internet forum.

I think we can take that as given. Why do you think not knowing everything is particularly relevant here?

It seems unlikely, given that the existence of ghosts has never been convincingly established. But we can't conclude anything for sure unless we can work out what actually happened to you. And if we can't work that out from the available evidence, then the question will probably remain unresolved.

You think you have sufficient evidence to persuade the scientific establishment of the existence of ghosts? If so, good on you. Please present your persuasive evidence.

    Wait!

You're saying that your curtain experience was not the first time you've seen a ghost?

Please describe some of your other encounters. I am particularly interested in your observation of one or more ghosts walking through doors, and any corroborating evidence you have other than your personal testimony.

You mention observable evidence. Where can I observe this evidence?

How do you know that ghosts have preferences?

Not even logical. If you want to discuss established science, there is the prerequiste subforums for that. Fringe is obviously for the unexplained. And if you are too good for such topics, why bother?

There is nothing wrong with this thread and besides, here you are posting in it. If an armchair scientist cant even remotely appreciate or at least admit there are unexplained phenomena (as discovery is perennially ongoing), then they arent much of a scientist. This is the fringe. How many times does it have to be repeated this section deals with unexplained or anomalous phenomena? So hard-headed and illogical.

Your type of reaction to the fringe including many members here are why the fringe should be shut down as in deleted. People want to post in it out of curiosity but with sneering condemnation as well as hammering the current established ideas of reality to offset insecurity of the unknown but are offended when topics are posted of occurrences and experiences that does not coincide with what they know as commonplace and usual. It is fear and very similar, ironicly, to prejudice.

You've got the wrong end of the stick. This thread was in General Science at the time the post you are replying to was made.

It has subsequently, perhaps as a result of that post, been moved to the Fringe.

It made perfect sense at the time it was written.

See my other reply. You are, not for the first time, flying off the handle for no good reason.

Well there is no problem but I think it started in the science section.
    It did.
But don't worry everyone makes mistakes.

Has Seattle been spooked from his/her own thread? S/he seems to be letting it sink, why?
I think the thread was a wind-up, but why in the science section at first?

I think it was a wind-up too. Not sure what the motive was.
