Oh, hey, lookit that... The GOP is taking even more rights away from women... This time, removing their ability to decide not to carry a child with incredibly difficult and costly medical problems to them.

The legislation, which cleared the GOP-led Legislature with some Republican opposition, makes it a crime for a doctor to terminate a pregnancy based on knowledge of Down syndrome, a genetic abnormality that causes developmental delays and medical conditions such as heart defects and respiratory and hearing problems.

It makes performing an abortion in such cases a fourth-degree felony and requires the state medical board to revoke the physician's license if convicted. Pregnant women involved in such procedures won't be penalized.
Meanwhile, the continued erosion of the ACA under the GOP will make it even more difficult for parents of disabled children to afford to raise them...

Love the fetus, hate the child I guess.

For the GOP abortion is a foundation, their single issue voters will vote for them on their anti-abortion stance no matter what, it does not matter what republican policy or candidate comes with the anti-abortion stance, be it Moore of Trump, as long as 'they are saving the baby's!"

While this is a women's issue, per say, it turns out most american women are for restrictions on abortion this is due to the fact that most people in america are bible thumping morons. So how do we democrats support a women right to choose even though it is not an electable position, well use the republican playbook of eating away at something from the sides. For the last several years medication abortion (abortion pills) have been on the rise, allow women to purchase them readily, cheaply and even without a doctor (say online somewhere, as it turns out there is already a gray market for abortion pills online) would allow for women to get abortions off the books so to speak, while the anti-abortionist rally against overt images of abortion (like plan parenthood) they are not noticing the silent rise in abortion pills. Ideally we want the anti-abortionist to think they have won, so they are no longer energized to vote.

yes, because they feed off suffering and oppression, just like any sociopath which conservatives generally are comprised of.

That is grossly simplistic: they do it to get votes, from a bible thumper base that thinks some mythical zombie carpenter avatar of god 2000 years ago dictated that every fetus is a baby that must be saved (how they interpreted this from the new testament is honestly a mystery, but don't try to rationalize the religious).

Funny thing is the bible thumpers routinely ignore "Thou Shalt Not Kill" with surprising ease. If those fetuses/babies happen to be in a Muslim country the US is at war with then yes we do not mind at all killing them.

Yeah we all know, we need to move past bitching about these people and finding ways around their fanaticism. Can anyone in Europe get abortion pills off the counter and sell them to american women? If we could get abortion pills to american women online, with no doctor involved to be harassed by bible thumpers, no clinic to be harassed by bible thumpers. We need to actually fight back!

What democrats should do about abortion as an election: issues: http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_facto...e_doug_jones_playbook_on_abortion_rights.html

No I'm serious, if anyone of you live in a country that sells Mifepristone and/or Misoprostol over the counter, set up a website for american women to contact you and mail them the drugs.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/06/the-rise-of-the-diy-abortion-in-texas/373240/

This gets around the doctors, that he conservatives are attack physically and legislatively, this gets around the clinics that conservatives are attacking physically and legislatively, this is a "free market" argument that ties into the drug culture argument of the libertarian right to put into ones own body what ever one wants. Safety wise these drugs very safe in the first trimesters, in fact they are safer then going through with a pregnancy.
