In a world that is so heavilly conflicted. With refugees and displaced persons all over the globe. Where the UN is struggling to meet the demands placed upon it, Trump decides to allow the declaration of Jerusalem the capital of Israel. ( Contrary to the UN position)

I see no reason for the timing other than what appears to be Trumps agenda of brinkmanship and his nacasistic desire to be THE USA president the world will either seriously regret or in the least go down in history as the most aggressive.

There is no reason for the timing of this decision given all the possible outcomes and the circumstances the world finds itself enduring.

Perhaps the real reason for his travel bans is being revealed for surely the Muslim world may consider enough is enough. Trumps demonstrated hatred towards alternative belief is obvious and pepugnant.

As if we do not have enough conflict on our plates!

    • North Korea
    • Ukaine
    • Syria
    • Yemen
    • South China sea
    • Brexit
    • Myanmar
    ...and others

    Care to discuss?

What's to discuss? Trump and the GOP are systematically disassembling everything that actually made America "good" in order to make it great for their corporate sponsors.

Specifically Sheldon Adelson. I can't find the exact numbers at the moment, but he contributed millions to Trump and Trump super-pacs.

And now the US say they'll be "taking names" of those who back a UN resolution opposing the naming of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The threat being made seems to be that if any country receiving aid from the US opposes their view then the aid to that country will either be cut back or stopped entirely.
So to add to all the other questionable things one might think the US is doing, can we now add blackmail to the list? Is extortion not illegal when it comes to votes at the UN?

"Taking names" is pretty typical politics. Except that Trump is more vindictive than most. He's just trolling liberals at this point.

Perhaps Trump needs to have a re-look at where the wealth he so willingly wishes to use as extortion comes from.
Any sales person knows ( except trump of course) that one does not shoot your customers and that is exactly what Trump is threatening the UN ( of all communities) with.

    Maybe I am wrong...
What does make the USA so wealthy? Surely not the rust belt....

Forget international patents. Forget international law. Forget USA sovereignty on intellectual property rights. Trump has just threatened to dump any rights the USA may have had under international laws and treaties.
It's going to be a "free for all" on how to rip the USA off now...

My guess it may be a misdirect ploy.

Probably not the countries that get the most aid from the U.S. however.

He obviously fails to see the significant (IMO) relationship between foreign aid and national security. ( including intellectual property, good will etc.)

Good point. And with his approval rating even lower than Hillary Clinton's, it will be a tough election for him.

Perhaps you could get on the horn and tell Trump that? Because he can't give it up.

    Fortress America? Twinned with Israel.

Will USA's looming isolation put Vietnam into the shade? Time to start referring to it as "post democratic"

Trump's recent twitter support of the right wing in Britain may be poisoning that "special relationship"

Is there a credible political grouping in America ready to take over after Trump leaves the stage (if there is anything left) or can he manoever some kind of a successor ,fair means or foul?

A two state solution is simply not possible, Israel has cut up the west bank beyond repair. At best there could be a 1.5 state solution where Gaza is its own state, but the west bank will have to become part of Israel: if Israel wants the land and the city, which they do and which they have taken, then they will need to take the people as well, Jewish majority be dammed. The Palestinians of the west bank have nowhere to go and their land has been cut up, there is no other option but to make them citizens of Israel with full rights of movement and voting rights.

blah, TYT = Qatar western outreach.
