You miss my point. The condition in the Kalahari are ... toasty ... now. The area still supports kudu and other large animals. When global warming get bad larger areas will experience those kind of conditions. And life carries on there. The Kalahari-type areas will probably be high desert, but the chance exists that other areas will become similar to the pre-AGW Kalahari. Neither of us can know that one way or the other for sure.

A fine reminder that weather isn't climate.

small steps I guess keeping the cooling in the Southern hemisphere will preven't sudden mayor changes in the northern hemisphere (where 87% of the human population live) worst case scenario A relativly small piece at antartica get's cooled during th local winter (for most of you that's summer) and basicly cool the region belov the freezing point of co2 and start collecting it, dig a deep hole locally and burry it (semi safe). Worst case scenario where back where we started as the CO2 escapes and their are some local weather anomalies around the antarctic sea.[/quote]

    there you go

and continental climate is different than maritime climate

but--------------------that's where I live so it matters to me.

    Just for a general overview of the state of earth's ecosphere, mainly due to man's activity;
It seems that man's intelligence has made us an global invasive species:

    No flora, no fauna!

We will become Nephilim (Aliens) when we will discover time-travel and visit the passed. That's why they're in the Bible.

I'm sure you know this because you are a Nephilim.

Actually spaceship landings appear in the Bible: Exodus 19, "I am going to come to you in a thick cloud." A spaceship descended on Mount Sinai. I have actually seen a Nephilim though!

How do you stretch a cloud into an interstellar conveyance?

“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”

Yes, we think we own the natural world. Little do we realize we are subject to it.

I remember a story, an alien lands on Earth and finds humans have discovered a way to suck power directly from the environment. Endless free power. But it wasn't endless, and by the time the alien landed the Earth was a very cold planet. He tried to warn the humans it wasn't too late, if they stopped sucking the life out of the planet it would recover. The humans killed the alien and sucked the power from his spaceship.

2017 was the second warmest global year on record - and there was no Niño driving it, as in other years high above the trendline.
It was farther above the linear trend line than any year subsequent to a Niño on record, which further indicates (we've been seeing this shadow grow) that the warming is accelerating (as is, apparently, the CO2 retention). The more or less linear expectation is conventional wisdom as formalized by the IPCC projections - but it has always been an assumption, and misfits with both theory and data have been tugging at the tablecloth. 2017 warns us - again - that it may be wrong.

The ongoing illusion of normality and safety might then be a worse, a greater, vulnerability than even most cynics anticipated: it's not just a frogboil illusion, but includes the exponential growth blind spot - call it the pond algae illusion - as well. The narrative of the slowly boiled frog at least provided an extended ramp over enough time to persuade, and slow enough disaster that incremental responses and adjustments would deliver measurable incremental benefits. The pond algae illusion coming into play (an alga doubles its pond coverage every day; if it covers the pond on day 100, how much of the pond has it covered by day 95?) means that the possibility there may be no slow ramp of trouble in our future, but rather a sudden and irremediable blowup and collapse of industrial civilization, is no longer (if it ever was) a fringe or extreme consideration.

Why would God need a spaceship?

    Why not ask it?

It looked like aliens do in films. Humanoid without the genitals. Bulbous eyes. Just like the asguard. They are actually smaller than us.

And when did they morph into that particular form? You'll find that people see "popular" aliens. Like Mr. Jacob Kowalski said "I ain't got the brains to make this up."
