    Cash money , coin and paper bills ,1$,2$, 5$, 10$, 20$, 50$ , 100$ , 1000$ etc , in Hand is important .

It means that any transaction that you have done or will do is private .

And That , is a fundamental Freedom given to all Human Beings .

If the Cash System of money is shut down by a Cashless System of money , debit , credit , card System then we can All be tracted , Hence loose our privacy . And identity .

    Agreed

    Interesting question .

To my knowledge , since the dollar is not backed by gold , it isn't there .

Money is only worth as much as the powers that be say it is. And if there was a collapse, what am I gonna do with gold? I would rather have a storm cellar full of canned goods.

And for everyday people, cash is largely irrelevant.

And so their lives cost them between 2% and 20% more than their parent's lives cost, for the same living.

A cash-less economy has certain overhead costs, similar to the convenience premium one pays for candy at the gas station.

By whom or what? God? Nature? Physics? The flying spaghetti monster?

I am in favour of privacy because I do not like to be spied on in everything I do. I am in favour of buying and selling with silver coins which represent a solid, honest and traditional form of value. In both French and Scots (and some other languages) the words for silver and money are the same. I desire privacy in my commercial transactions and equally to my communications.

There seem to be those who would abolish all privacy on the grounds that this would thwart paedophiles, terrorists, or tax evaders. There seem to be those who no longer believe that "those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither liberty nor security." An Orwellian surveillance state would concentrate still more power in the hands of the already powerful who are those most likely to abuse the rest of humanity.

But let us not conjure "fundamental freedoms" into existence, there's no such things.

I read somewhere once that in case of an apocalypse you'd need four things: a bicycle, a gun, canned sardines and gold coins. I suspect that there will always be a few idiots that will give you their food for gold.

farmer: Oh, you want to trade that $ 11000. 1 oz gold coin for food-----------ok here's a 33 oz. chicken---33 for one, I'd say you're getting a bargain.

The way I understand it the gold in Fort Knox is not audited with the reason given that there should be no emphasis on gold but only upon the currency.

That seems a strange reason really.

Does anyone actually check that the gold is there?

    also complete control of society.
by surrendering cash it allows corporates to take over complete control of society.
    no more personal choice.
all money channels will be owned and only approved purchases to approved companys which will be monopolys will be allowed.

    there would be 3 currencys
    1 Google
    2 Apple
    3 government approved credit

Social, Cultural , Personal & National identity would be reduced to corporate branding.

A copy of the Boy Scout Handbook might be useful too. They never covered looting a grocery store, but I think I can figure that one out.

On Google Earth, you can walk right into the Bullion Depository - but it's just a big empty room.
