I hope I'm posting this thread in the right section. Anyways, what's the purpose of the deep web besides weird science, leaked documents, and illegal content? I mean, when I went on to the deep web a few years ago, I got bored pretty quick, since I found nothing worth sticking around for...

Anyhow, what's your opinion on the deep web, and have you found anything worthwhile on there?

Don't know how to get there. Don't care. There's enough in the shallow end to keep me occupied.

Are you thinking of the dark web? The deep web is simply everything on the web that's not searchable by the search engines.

I don't think it's there for your entertainment.

I think it grew, organically, from people who wanted to conduct, or at least view, illegal activity.

Yeah, you're probably right; I think I should of said "the dark web", but oh well.

Well, I guess you're right about that, but I guess the pros to being on the dark web is a better stance on free speech.

I think it's to enable people to trade anonymously and without regulations. Of course, that opens up the dark web to the darker, illegal side of things, but it also allows honest trade for those who want to trade and buy on a decentralised network, away from third party involvement.
