But it is a fact that Mexico is a drug country.

It wouldn't be a huge source of drugs if there were no US demand for them. Walls might make it slightly more difficult, but it won't end the problem.

The drugs aren't being carried in on foot over the border terrain, any more than gold bullion or counterfeit watches would be. They're coming in trucks and cars, ships and planes, drones and submarines. And the money is being laundered through US banks. The Wall has nothing to do with that.

Building the great wall will spur economy and create jobs.

    1. cant be answered because some areas it is impossible to build a wall(through a river on a steep crumbling cliff) and they are not going to put up any wall a-long many hundreds of kilometers.
not to mention US Farmers whos farms are on both sides of the border
so they would need to provide customs and border security for US farmers to move their cows to the next paddock, or drive to the local shop.
there are several towns where the wall would cut the town in half.

    2. between 1 foot to 4 feet thick
around 20 to 25 feet tall
a mix of concrtete and steel

    3. at todays prices which go up around 5% to 7 % every year
currently the smallest wall around only main urban areas will cost
US $ 36,000,000,000.00 to build at the smallest possible option and smallest possible price
    then it will cost
    US $ 5,500,000,000.00 Every year

Digging holes and filling them in would do much less ecological and political harm.

Seemingly odd how THE extant example of a highly 'successful' ultra-apartheid inspired wall-of-separation, is conveniently painted out of the MSM discourse, and likewise here at SF:
    http://mondoweiss.net/2014/11/israels-become-oppression/
Yep, Israel's huge but, thanks to relentless settler encroachments, steadily shrinking outdoor prison camp. Also known as a fishtank into which shooting legal and illegal munitions is easy and effective. And sometimes senseless to most humans:

It helps much in 'legitimizing' said wall, and the continual misery inflicted within it's boundary, to have an extremely well funded and Madison Avenue advised, real slick and polished ongoing PR campaign.

    Mending Wall
    BY ROBERT FROST

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
    And spills the upper boulders in the sun;
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
    I let my neighbour know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
"Stay where you are until our backs are turned!"
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of out-door game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, "Good fences make good neighbours."
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
"Why do they make good neighbours? Isn't it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down." I could say "Elves" to him,
But it's not elves exactly, and I'd rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me,
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father's saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, "Good fences make good neighbours."

How about instead of a wall/fence that can and will be easily penetrated, how about just high altitude drones tracking everyone the cross the border and cuts them off with boarder petrol. We have the technology.

Americans may want some input on the drone surveillance of their back yards, 24/7

Are you saying they don't have drones watching the border already?

it opens a question of "who has the power" which in the USA is a big issue because capitalist ideology makes power the ultimate goal.
thus who controls the drones, where they go, who has ownership and publishing rights of the pictures.
can they make a game show out of it ...
what if they record illegal activity of a rich powerful person, who gets to own that money ?
    on and on it goes.
its not about a single legal principal.
its about percieved power and control.

thats why they allow hundreds of thousands of illegal mexican workers to work undocumented in the farms to keep the agricultural industry from bankruptcy.
