The human soul is the subject of philosophers and psychologists. I'm not certain science can adequately pin it down, but they have been trying.

Dam...sometimes I get too serious for my own good. Sorry about that, usually I am quicker on the uptake.......

No ghost in the machine, via Occam's Razor. "Soul" or "spirit" isn't necessary to explain what we experience. But yeah, you have a subconscious that is vast compared to your conscious mind, just beneath the surface.

I've been meditating off and on for the last 30 years. It's changed the way my mind functions drastically. Even still I have problem or unfocused meditations, but it's not meant to be specifically pleasant.

It's opened a whole new area of inquiry for me. Overall, it's made my experience of life more meaningful, dare I say...magical.

I've recently started with meditation and usully only do a 10 minute session before work. However, I have noticed that I feel a lot calmer during the day, slight memory improvement and just an overall greater sense of "being there". It's hard to explain but I definitely feel a difference.

I'm always calm. I don't feel anything when I meditate.

To become a nobody, no obligation, not even to life.

It's got nothing to do with any of that.

I'm sorry, who are you? If you were not you, who would you be?

A functional unit of society. The body in which I put food when I'm hungry.

No, you don't float off on a cloud, you are still functional but without the mental attachment to the idea of self.
