I'm having trouble visualizing the spiral of Binary bumps on a CD being seen by the fixed position lazer reader, can anyone show me a visual diagram or video please?

Thanks this is a good start, so if I put a pointer on one area and spin it, it touches all the spiral? I have so much trouble visualizing this, also I forgot to put the word work on the end.

No, the read head must track outward as the disc spins.

So the Lazer does move? So what I was trying to visualize is impossible. I see.

It's mounted on a radial arm and its position is controlled by the drive's computer.
