The tides are the result of the rotation of the Earth and the whirlpools

Indeed. We could park spaceships there, at 10,001 km altitude, and they'd just sit there, not falling.

Is there a similar boundary around Earth? Is it also 10,000 km, or is 10,000 km "special" for the Moon?

And what happens if you fly over an terrain feature >1 km in height? We need more fictional math to address that kind of thing.

    Good point.

You're asleep in your ship, stationary at 10,001 km altitude
The Moon is turning under you, doing its 27 day sidereal rotation.
A 2km tall mountain range passes under you, and BAM! you're plunging Moonward.
Hope you wake up before you go splat!

As the tidal forces of the earth stopped the rotation of the moon, if the side of the moon turned to the earth is concave, and the underside of the moon is convex.
Laser altimeters of the ships "Apollo-15, -17" showed that the visible side of the Moon lies below the average level, and the invisible side is higher than it.

I keep wondering why you haven't been binned.

And it shall forever after be known as Fermer's Moon.

Binned means put in the Cesspool.

You are ignorant of the physics required to analyze this problem. You don't have to remain ignorant, but you would have to give up making assertions, and start asking questions to clear up your misconceptions.

This is a convexo-concave shape, just like you described ...

... but you do realize that the Moon is Not. Physically. Shaped like this.

    Right??

Say, it's only a shallow bowl moon
    Sailing over a cardboard sea
    But it wouldn't be make-believe
    If we believed in him

    https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/franksinatra/itsonlyapapermoon.html

Hence we have bowl shaped area of attraction of the moon limited to 10 thousand kilometers from the surface of the moon

Learn something every day. Never thought Russian Moon Physics could be so interesting

To be honest i would give up being a astronaut if it meant relying on persons like this to put together a spacecraft to take take me to the moon

What he's read somewhere, though he doesn't understand it, is that the landscape where the Apollo landings are is below mean vertical datum - the arbitrarily chosen "zero altitude" of the Moon.

The landscape is still convex of course, it's just depressed at that location. (blue on map)

The near side of the Moon faces away from the Sun when it's between* the Earth and the Sun, and toward the sun when the Earth in between the Moon and the Sun. So it makes one full revolution for each trip around the Earth.

At least that's what it looks like to me.

    *"Betweenish" if you like.

And I suspect most of the other 7 billion inhabitants with Fermer05 and a few Flatters disagreeing

The 24 hour in sync rotation is almost like (this is one for Fermer05 to think about) there is a invisible reduction gear (say about 10 thousand klm from the moon) on the concave side (facing us side) which is why the moon surface is so depressed. The invisible gear has worn it away

I heard that in a few years there will be a hole in the moon

    Just saying

Yes. I'm simply clarifying that, when Fermer says "Moon's rotation 'stopped'" he is referring to the Moon being "One-Face". i.e. not rotating with respect to Earth.

Fermer may be clueless about a lot of physics, but if we pretend to not understand anything he says, he will come away with the impression that the problem is ours, not his. Which won't help him find his way.

Anyway, my earlier report has gotten the thread moved to PseudoSci, so that's good.
