    Huh? Do you mean the opposite charges of the electrons and protons? There is no strong nuclear force between electrons in the atom and protons.

    Maybe you could rephrase your question.

    Yes, the binding force between the electron and the proton. If it were not for this attractive force, there would be no stability?

    Without the attraction between a positive and negative charge there would not be any atoms, so I guess you could say these forces make the atom stable. But of course there are unstable atoms (isotopes) such as Cobalt 60.

    No, Theorist, the strong interaction, which is involved in nuclear stability, involves 3 types of "colour charge", not two, so they cannot be said to be "opposites".

    But why don't you raise these issues under your Antoine persona, on scienceforums.com? There you have been banned as xyz, but Antoine has not yet been banned.
