I do not know about the above, but am certain that Quasars were a killing blow due to the lack of any less than billions of light years from Earth. Steady State claimed that the major features of the universe were essentially the same with respect to both time & space.

Quasars were both very distant & features of the early universe.
There are few (if any) recent quasars.

Steady State assumes a universe whose major features do not vary with respect to either time or space.

Further upon this theory , one has to imagine that on the other side of the galaxy , one views the Universe as moving the opposite direction from us . Reasonably thinking

Well I did not realise the quasars figured as ammunitian to bring down steady state..so thanks..funny being into astronomy not thinking about them so much.
Here is a cut and paste from Wiki re the back ground radiation ... a d I had the impression when that observation became known the steady staters gave up on tbeir model....all but me...☺ I thought today as strange as it may sound the observable universe well all of what came from the big bang may have been a black hole in a much bigger universe that has existed forever.
That black hole had consumed a part of the universe the timeless one and by reaching a level where the force of gravity is overcome by itself and somehow snaps like a rubber band snaps ...and our universe was spat out expanding until the dark energy can no longer cause the expansion and gravity slowly pulls it all back into that singularity that is reached snaps yet again and the clock is reset...or maybe something else.

    From Wiki...
The cosmic microwave background (CMB) is electromagnetic radiation as a remnant from an early stage of the universe in Big Bang cosmology. In older literature, the CMB is also variously known as cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR) or "relic radiation". The CMB is a faint cosmic background radiation filling all space that is an important source of data on the early universe because it is the oldest electromagnetic radiation in the universe, dating to the epoch of recombination. With a traditional optical telescope, the space between stars and galaxies (the background) is completely dark. However, a sufficiently sensitive radio telescope shows a faint background noise, or glow, almost isotropic, that is not associated with any star, galaxy, or other object. This glow is strongest in the microwave region of the radio spectrum. The accidental discovery of the CMB in 1964 by American radio astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson[1][2] was the culmination of work initiated in the 1940s, and earned the discoverers the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics.

The discovery of CMB is landmark evidence of the Big Bang origin of the universe.

I think that where ever you place yourself your observations will have you at the center of an expanding universe...we are each the center of the observable universe how cool is that.

How can people believe in God when the universe is such a hostile place for humans and humanity could also be wiped out by any calamity in space?

We could be wiped out at almost any day by a giant asteroid (or even a group of small asteroids) or a giant supernova or even a giant solar flare or even a planet going on a collision course with the Earth.

The universe is such a violent and hostile place and is so unfriendly to life that believing in a God who cares about us and protects is just crazy and clearly doesn't agree with any of the evidence.

Also if there is a God then why are there so many illnesses, diseases, disorders, infections and disabilities?

If there was a God then illness, extreme poverty, homelessness and disability should not exist in this world but extreme poverty and extreme inequality and extreme suffering and hardship exists in very large amount on this planet so believing in a God who loves us and cares about us is just extremely foolish.

Religion does not rely on reason or logic but if you try to apply reason or logic you do the same as the theist and that is to speculate upon something that has no foundation in evidence or indeed offers more than made up stories that seek to establish wishful thinking as fact.
We first imagine a God then we attach our beliefs of what a God should do and construct something out of nothing.

You're a glass half empty kinda guy.

Think of all the days that God didn't smite us with asteroids and supernovae.

If we plant our crops at the right time and wave a chicken over our heads in the right direction, God will protect us from His homicidal universe.

Yes, Been watching my dog catch and eat flies today. There seems to be no shortage of them. I imagine the universe is much larger than the window sill in my living room.

Are you comparing us to flies? The Jesus of the fly world misled those poor flies telling them God loves them and they mean something to him. But then, maybe this god needed them fly souls, even at the cost of whatever suffering it caused to them and others. It's nice to think your loved one's suffering is only a god made path to bliss.
    You hope.

What the Fly Jesus did not tell them is that god is a dog... and he does indeed love them.

    Define "bliss."

So God felt lonely so he thought "I will get a dog ..I must invent one..but wait I will invent a human..so nice to have a human"
So God made a couple of humans and just like rabbits they bred well like rabbits...he gave them free will hoping they would do their own culling but although they were very good at culling God still had to throw in a few "acts of God" to try and control the numbers. But it did not work out well for God because the humans were always asking for this and that and they were never content...not like the dog (he got the dog when it was clear humans were not going to work out for him)..so he decided to keep away from the humans in the hope the humans would stop their praying and droping his name to justify any terrible acts of cruelty and warfare...but despite keeping away and trying to have humans look after themselves they just did not let up...and the difficult thing for God was the humans making up stories involving God so he gave them a dog in the hope they would learn decent behaviour...and that did not work so he gave them a cat, and even a gold fish but still the humans kept asking for more and more...so God resigned and left the universe leaving the humans to make up God stories and look after the animals.
A bad move no doubt but at least God is now elsewhere happy with his well behaved pet his dog.

In the context of my post... Bliss is a supposedly eternal reward for a god created suffering of an individual who dies. So, to please God there has to be an eternal presence of suffering in the universe. That's a botch job of a design or the work of a limited powered god.

Would we know one without the other?

If god wanted us to, we would.

Love, Hate, Joy, Sorrow, Pleasure, Pain, Satisfaction, Hunger, Hard, Soft...etc, etc, etc. What is "bliss."

So, your saying this god has to make bliss and its opposite (suffering), because he is not able to come up with a design containing no suffering? Seems like the work of a limited god.

This god's love for us is not like the human love we have for our loved ones, because humans have no control over the Universe. If we did, we would do our best for our loved ones. The eternal presence of suffering is God's best??

Had I never cried, would my life have been complete? I'm not saying it is all about suffering, only that suffering is part of the experience. Do you really want to leave without at least a few bruises and a few scars?
