words allow us to define things. while scientific words define facts as laws. if scientific fact defines "real Magic" as unexplainable by science, is it a proper use of the word "real magic" ? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
My argument precisely. Magic is unexplained. If it cannot be explained it is described as Magic. Should there be an explanation for the phenomena. Hence my perspective that there is an explanation for everything.
"unexplained" is an explination. the explination is to explain it as unexplained. "tell me what it is!" "it is unexplained!" is that an explanation ? does an opinion define it as being void from scientific fact of 'being' ?
On the contrary, there are scans, etc. that can "see" processes in the brain. Show you a thousand pictures and your brain will react differently to a picture of your wife. There is clearly a physical process related to your wife that is not related to anything else.
You do know what introspect means don't you? Enumerate the many ways the thought of your wife resembles a chemical process in your brain. If they're the same thing they should at least share the same properties.
Chemical / electrical processes yes Not related to anything else Cannot know that Area of brain could be doing double duty I need to pee soon What on TV tonight? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
James (The Amazing) Randi always made a point about never calling himself a "magician". Instead, he prefers the word "conjurer". The reason, course, is that he likes to emphasise that no stage magician does "magic". Magicians are masters (or mistresses?) at misdirection. Their job is to make you see what they want you to see, and not (all of) what is actually happening.
I'm kinda wondering if post 113 was a threat. Like, if we don't all listen up this time, you'll refuse to say it again.
Actually it's de-script-ion. To undo scripture (writing.) This is why I prefer the American, "eraser," rather than "rubber." Rubber comes from the rubber plant and can be used to make tyres etc.. It's also why I prefer the American, "garbage," rather than, "rubbish," which de-scribes something like a, "rub." All magicians begin with a clean slate. HOW they develop the trick affects the finished TRICK. Only God can do the unexplained.
Or you could enumerate the ways in which they differ. You are the one who is making a positive claim, that physical and mental processes are fundamentally different. Support your claim.
You have it backwards. Rubber is called rubber because rubbers (things that rub) are made of it. And yet shamans and other charlatans are adept at explaining God.
