You can answer any way you want to. If you live in the U.S. you can mention states and/or countries or just countries if that is more applicable to you.

If you want to list or somehow generalize them that makes it more interesting I think for others reading this post.

I'll generalize about the U.S. states and just say that I've been to most of them expect for the New England states north of NY and except for the Gulf Coast states.

As far as countries, I've been to Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Thailand, Hong Kong, mainland China, Macau, England, France and Germany.

Seven countries, including Canada - 9 provinces: never made it to Nova Scotia (my dog was sick, so we turned back) or the territories (still hope to)
and the US - 14 states, with a prequel and sequel in California, both less interesting than the 1994 sojourn, which featured the LA earthquake.

I supposed that would be a good thread as well, what did you see when you went to all those states?

Actually on my first cross country trip (from N.C. to Washington State) one impression was that there is never a "dramatic" view on that trip. The Rockies are high but you never really "see" them as much as you are just gradually in them.

The Mid-West is boring but the endless flat fields of corn leave the biggest impression. If it wasn't for the St. Louis arch, the Badlands, and Yellowstone it would have been pretty uneventful.

Including other trips, other than Hawaii, Arizonia was the "most different" state that I had been to (and ended up living there for a while). It was right out of a Western movie set.

I was absolutely blown away by Arizona! You drive from hot, red, rocky desert - some amazing rock formations! - up and up and up until you're surrounded by enormous cool pines and half-drowned in the freshest air on Earth.
I only went through most of them, rather than to. What I mostly saw was highway. Really good, well-maintained, divided highway, for the most part. We got off it a couple of times to look at the back roads of beautiful Kentucky and depressing Tennessee. All the rest stops had pretty decent restaurants, and someplace in Texas, I managed to finish a bowl of excellent chili verde ... then spent a week, regrowing my epithelial tissues.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UK (England, Scotland and Wales), USA, Netherlands, Hungary. I think that's the lot. Being in Europe means you don't need to go too far to have been in quite a few.

Almost all the states. Don't think I've ever been to Arkansas, Tennessee or Kentucky, but other than that I think I've hit them all.

Countries include the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Japan, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Niger, Bahrain and Korea.

Living in Arizona (for school) was even crazier. Actual Roadrunners on campus (I didn't know they were real!), dry heat, it gets cold quickly at night, snow in Flagstaff (and skiing) on the same day that it is 95F in Phoenix. The Grand Canyon in the same state as sking and desert! The desert with the mesas and cactus is right out of a Western movie set.

First bit of foreign soil I touched, back in 1970, enroute from Seattle to ... points south. Eighteen hour layover waiting for a military bird to come through, so we went to Wan Chai and got tattooed.

Just a cobra. Twenty young and rather nervous men one a plane to "interesting". One draws a cobra. Everybody agrees we should all have it done. Ho, Hawaiian-Chinese corpsman, suggests "Pinky's" tattoo parlor. We drink beers and get inked.

Only one of them left now.
