I got a flu shot this month. I already had some sniffles and I don't know if it was compounded by it. I didn't want to get sick or have others get sick from me. But I got curious, if it is a weakened virus can I still infect others with it and it would be like they get a flu shot as well?

Aside, one stupid comment I made, to the nurse was: if I fake my own death can I still sue?

Only your estate can sue - and they'd have to be seriously motivated!

Any pathogens you carry on or in your body are just as able to infect others as they were before: the vaccine gave you resistance, but didn't alter them.
Also, there are many different pathogens, both viral and bacterial, and you don't know which ones you're carrying. Each vaccine has a limited range; they're designed against some specific pathogens, can never protect you from all of them.

I would love to have seen the nurse's expression.......

But I think it's a good question about whether a weakened vaccine is still potentially infectious. My understanding is in principle it is, but the chances are very small and even if it were to occur, all the infected person would get would be the weakened virus, i.e. something that would not make them ill.

A weakened virus is not to be confused with a weekend virus, of course...

I keep thinking of small pox. That's a vaccination before my time...

No where near the delta, that's for sure. (Up the creek, as it were.)
