Did you have any thoughts about the subject of this topic?

    Meh.
Feel free to scientifically demonstrate how you are "truly" enjoying something infinite.
    On second thoughts, don't.

I believe my actions speak for themselves. I need not feel guilty about having enjoyed my existence while engaged in the community in a positive way.

I'll be damned before a religious wing-nut can come up to me and tells me I cannot be truly enjoying my existence.
    Bah!!!

I'm not doubting that you feel you have it pretty good. It's only when you misuse words like "truly" and "scientific" and "infinite" that the absences within a provincial world view become pronounced ....

Nothing scientific about it. It is a purely subjective feeling experienced and known to me only. I am able to be content without your permission........

Once again, the gripe is not your contentment. The gripe is that you dress it up with queasy phrases, giving yourself a heads up on others who are not, apparently, "enjoying the truly infinite artistic aspect of nature", like yourself.

All you are doing is imagining a hierarchy that places you at the top, which is how any provincial view with high hopes (dys)functions.

If you experience that kind of bliss through your religion, go with it. I never begrudge anyone their happiness. Do you?
    A little jealous are we?
I am happy because all my main hopes and expectations have been fulfilled. There isn't much I have not done, while I had the chance.

My friends tell me I should write a book, but as I said before I am not an ambitious person. My needs are modest. I am content to look back with some measure of pride about my accomplishments and the positive impact I have had on my family, friends, and community.

The little notes and cards I receive once in awhile are sufficient reward for my efforts.

Feel free to scientifically demonstrate that a person cannot achieve infinite happiness.
    See, it can't be done.

Can you spiritually demonstrate that religion is able to bring you infinite happiness?
Don't you have to die in order to enjoy eternity in heaven?
Unless God sends you to hell and you can suffer an eternity (infinity) of pain and sorrow, because He "loves you".

    No need to add "infinite".

Once again you choose strange language.

Then why did you use the word "infinite"?
    No stranger than yours.....

You seriously misinterpret that phrase out of context. The statement was that I was one of the lucky few billion people who are presently occupying earth, who do get to contemplate infinity. With few (as compared to insects) billion people I was including all the 7.5+ something billion that are lucky enough to have survived the process of evolution and natural selection over a timespan of perhaps some 14 billion years that the first elements occurred, and were lucky enough to be born on a cinderella planet like earth.
What of it? What is so special about the word "infinity" that any contemplation of the term needs be associated with a character flaw in the contemplator?

Aristotle, Plato, you know some of those old philosophers must have been extraordinarily "superior" in attitude according to your characterization.

Are you denying that religion contemplates an infinity. What are all the superlatives used to describe God's natural infinite aspects? And all that without a scientific theory of supernatural infinities??? That's getting way out there, where the busses don't run ...

Are you therefore superior in wisdom or capacity to experience extasy when discovering something new about the infinite variety (becoming) explicated in the universe? Give me a break!............

Provincialism dressed up with high hopes does not simply reside within one corner of the political spectrum.
IOW it is not a behaviour unique to atheism (or any other sort of "ism"), so your approach to the issue is incorrect.

Can't resist the ad hominem , can you? The guilt card has been used for so long that people don't even know when they try to play it.
What you conveniently overlooked is that my hopes have already been fulfilled, and the rest of my life is a bonus to be used for serious contemplation, deeper understanding, and above all, marvel in the constantly evolving arts and sciences.

At least you are now refraining from using the word "infinite".

Yes. A designer can't be an explanation if you don't have an explanation for the designer.

Oh, I was not aware that I was using the word infinite in every post I make and that you were looking forward to reading that word over and over to prove I like big words.

Every time you use the word God, you are committing the sin of talking about an "eternal being".
You must be fond of that word. Spooky language, big words................................

What is the problem with truly enjoying something infinite that you appreciate?

It's not so much about big words, but using them in a way that makes sense.
