'Bullying'....'garden variety' UFO.... Sigh. Imploring you to stop ranting nonsense only encourages another round. The paddoboy attack dog new reality is the old reality is back. Sigh.

The Post that I actually responded to was :
This was the Post where MR pointed out that a Poster had falsely accused another Poster of "nonsensical conspiracy orientated claims" :
When in fact that other Poster had clearly Posted :

so..., DaveC426913, you want to start with these Logical Fallacies, also?

Exactly. Seriously, where does ''Big Foot'' live? Did he build an underground bunker?

There's just zero legit, credible evidence to support that BF exists, imo.

Yeah. That is not an ad hom.

What someone writes in their arguments is fair game for being addressed (even if the response is vacuous).
So, if someone posted a conspiracy oriented claim, a response that calls the argument nonsensical is still addressing the argument, not the arguer.

The hallmark of an ad hom is that it attacks the arguer instead of the argument.
And saying 'your argument is nonsensical' is an attack on the argument, not the arguer.
(Now, that is not to judge whether 'nonsensical' has any merit as a refutation, simply that it's not an ad hom).

    Thus endeth the lesson.

Also not a logical fallacy. It is merely a rather roundabout way of saying 'Your experience with this person somewhere else has no relevance here'. A valid refutation. I just happened to note that, informally, it's called a grudge.

The take-away form this story is: if you're going to interrupt the thread with a 'point of order', such as calling out a fallacy, be sure you know what you're talking about.

No fossils - but there are lots of gaps in the fossil record.

    Well said!
But can the forum expect anything more, based on his forum history, both here and elsewhere.

And in all that time, with all those incidents - not a one of them ever shown beyond dispute to be a genuine non-human (or non-present-day human, or non-this-dimension being) phenomenon.

The very best argument any of them have is argument by incredulity: "It didn't seem to behave like anything we recognize, therefore it must be of non-human origin."

That's it. That's the whole shebang.

    They're all of a 7-8 foot furry biped. That's definitely non-human.

That is disputed. We don't have one to analyze.

So what? The eyewitnesses saw it.

JCAFM!!!! We've gone from Aliens that have never made their visitations official and are prone to anal probing, to sightings of big hairy ape like humanoids that have avoided human contact!!!

    Lol

Thing is though MR, sightings alone aren’t enough. Sightings and suspicious footprints aren’t enough to conclude that it’s anything other than a recognizable animal. What would be helpful is if BF left some evidence ...hair, feces etc or had off spring.

I don’t imagine a barbaric looking creature could be so fastidious lol

I should probably clarify my position, lest it be misinterpreted.

Bigfoot et al, are near the top of the 'plausible' list in my view. They have many things in their favour:
    1. They're not a paranormal phenom; they're simply a crypto-zoological phenom.
    2. We have extant evidence that big, furry humanoids lived on Earth in the past.
    3. We have extant examples of living big furry primates.
    4. We are discovering new critters all the time. There is no doubt that we have yet to discover every macro-organism on Earth.
    5. There are vast tracts of the world still unexplored. (There was a doc recently about the photographer who went in search of the elusive Snow Leopard in Tibet decades ago. It took months of wandering the wilderness before he was able to capture just a few minutes of footage. Rare animals can easily go undetected in remote areas of the world.)
    6. Unlike UFOs, ghosts and other paranormal phenomena, Bigfeet require no leap-of-faith tortured hypotheses to explain them. They don't require Occam's 'multiplication of entities' such as any other unevidenced aspects (such as where UFO people live, or what ghosts might be made of.)

The idea of the existence of Alien life is not extraordinary in itself. It's just that as yet we do not have any evidence of any life off this Earth, let alone making visits. Couple that with the position that the chances of any alien life being similar to life on Earth, is really an extraordinary long shot. And of course there is always that possibility that we are alone. So obviously any confirmation that alien life does exist elsewhere, would be confirming a long held position and question that humanity has been asking itself for ages.
Therefor the evidence confirming such an historic question, does need to be extraordinary, and not just sightings of strange anomalies in the sky, that can readily in most cases be explained by various atmospheric disturbances. And of course the question I like putting...why the continued flittering in and flittering out again? They would be in advance of us so should not be fearful...they would not really want for anything, as everything on Earth is found throughout the solar system/galaxy/universe.
The two great barriers preventing or making contact with any intelligent alien life is time and distance.

I believe eyewitness reports and footprints are adequate evidence for the existence of Bigfoot. I mean all those people can't just be making it up. Plus the footprints are very distinct with dermal ridges on them just like on the soles of human feet. No animals leave prints like that. There's also several videos and photos of Bigfoot. It's not something we can just dimiss lightly imo..
