Read an article recently, discussing the validity of these devices. Anyone ever purchase one? They're cheap on amazon.

Apparently, according to ghost hunting experts, voices in the spirit world come in at a lower frequency than most people can hear clearly, so these devices are a must for those interested in communicating with the dead.

Some EVP recordings are very clear, while others aren't so clear. Here's one of a child clearly saying "It's mine!"

Here's another of a male voice asking "What could do that?"

That is pretty clear. Of course, my skeptical side says...well, it could be someone else speaking, and fooling the viewer. I'm going to buy one of those recorders. I bet the ones ''ghost hunters'' use, are pretty expensive though.

    Do you own one?

I don't own one and don't do evps since I'm not normally in haunted locations. Here's a Ghost Hunters clip of a pretty good EVP. Clear enough to cause the person to break down in tears.

Normally children aren't present during a paranormal investigation. It's pretty standard practice. And no. No paranormal investigator stays up all night at a haunted location trying to get evidence of the paranormal only to end up faking it. That doesn't make sense.

But, you don't have to be in a ''designated'' haunted place to use the EVP recorder. So, you should get one too, and just take it everywhere. lol I think it would be cool to see if anything at all gets picked up!

I may buy one. I have an K2 meter that measures electromagnetic energy. I check my apt every now and then to see if there's any ghosts lurking around.

lol Not sure I'd ever set out to ''ghost hunt,'' but...playing around with the EVP recorder will be fun.

Soooo, if you were to ever find out that your home is haunted, would you stay or move out? I'd SO move out!

Have you watched the movies, Paranormal Activity? They just stay living in a legit haunted house, with demons and covens all around them. lol Hell no! I know it's a fictional movie, but still.

I'd try a sage smudging first. If that didn't work, then I'd move out. Ghosts tend to be pretty set in their ways. That's why they are stuck between worlds. I saw the first Paranormal Activity, and was so scared by it I didn't see any more. It's more frightening when you actually believe the paranormal is real. Every night when I go to the frig for some cold lemonade I'm looking around for demons and ghosts. lol!

Aw, MR! Yea, those movies were terrifying, imo. I don't believe in demons, which I think was the premise of the movies, if I'm not mistaken.

Okay, I just bought an EVP recorder!

Under $30, there were brands $100 and up and I don't want to spend that. I couldn't get it on prime, so it's not going to be delivered until next week. So, the reviews are mainly good, but a few gave a 3 star rating because the purchasers went to haunted restaurants and hotels, and the device didn't pick up anything. lmao! That's not the manufacturer's fault. That's too funny.

Definitely a cemetery. Abandoned prisons and sanitariums and asylums are also good,

Well, Idk about this thing...it just seems cheaply made, and like a basic voice recorder. It doesn’t mention on the box that it can pick up low frequency noises. It comes with headphones, and a charger. And then some other wire which I haven’t figured out what it does.

It can also act as a MP3 player, what?

    Lol

    We shall see...

    Seriously!

The idea behind this device is that it's supposed to pick up more detail in the background and low frequency sounds that the human ear can't pick up on its own. Ghost physics? lol

So, I just took it off the charger and pressed record. Let it record for like five minutes, and I listened...and you know what guys? I think this might be too scary for me...anticipating if I'll hear something out of the ordinary is a bit unsettling. My dreams of being a ghost hunter are dashed.

Maybe if a friend does this with me, but unfortunately, the recorder only plays the sound back through headphones, so...

Two thoughts come to my 3 neuron brain

How do they (the floggers of this ???? whatever equipment) know ghost go Whoooo at low frequency? Do they provide any details about?

If the equipment came with any sort of manual, does it give specifications of the range of frequencies it picks up?

Make that three thoughts (Huey Dewey and Louie just gave me another)
It picks up low frequency we don't hear, correct????
Sooooo when you play it back ..... guess where I'm going...... what do you expect to hear????
Does the equipment proceess the ghost Whooooooo into the human hearing range???

    Coffee time

Supposedly, the recorder processes any sounds that you can't hear normally, to where you can hear them. I will say that when I played back the ''recording'' last night, I heard sounds of the air conditioner, which is normally silent, otherwise. Which actually startled me lol because it picked up a sound that normally, I don't hear. (I have central a/c so I tend to only hear it when it shifts on and off.) So, there's that, I guess.
