Last post. You're not derailing this thread with offtopic God talk.

You posted a pic of what is obviously an act of God.

Do you want to self-report, or shall I do the honours?

Seriously though: It's a valid question MR: by what criteria do you conclude that that video is the act of a ghost - as opposed to one of many other possible supernatural (or merely mundane) causes?

We dont need ghost your thinking of a spirit. Ghost suffer and dont exist at the same time.

And hey, what better way for an all-powerful deity to send a message to His creation than to slam a door in a deserted school a few times!

There you go, Magical Realist. kx000 says it's a spirit, not a ghost. Clearly, God is involved.

I believe in spirits. I just don't believe in God. It's like believing there are extraterrestrials out there without believing in Darth Vader.

    That's not a good analogy. Spirits/Gods is a question of small'big. Extraterrestrials/Darth Vader is a question of general/specific.

A spirit called God is pretty damn specific.

"God" is not a specific name. It just applies to a particularly powerful spirit. Like there are extraterrestrial pond scum, etc. and there are particularly powerful extraterrestrials that can travel from there to here.

God is his identity. It's his name and his species. You can't get much more specific than that.

If there's a "God species", there isn't only one - just like extraterrestrials.

You could always be the only one of your species.

But God doesn't have to be. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Norsemen, etc. had whole families of gods. No different from families of extraterrestrials.

No, it's like believing that there are extraterrestrials, but that big extraterrestrials can't possibly exist - because that would be ridiculous!

God is a big spirit. Same supernatural aspect, same motivations, same problems with both. The only difference is what name you use.

It's the difference between real beings and a character from a story. God is a storybook character. Just like Darth Vader.

Ah. So since there was a character called Casper the Friendly Ghost, ghosts are storybook characters, too. (Indeed, kid's cartoon characters - which is even less believable.)
