We need a way to make people safe coinsiding with pacifism... and "inner (peace) equanimiter" is the solutuon. Aply pacifism to the suffering of evil and it will sizzle up nice.

I am not the only one who sees a link.... (tweet vs mass shooting)
Former President Barack Obama weighed in on the mass shootings this past weekend in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, saying on Monday that Americans "should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments."
Obama denounced language from "leaders who demonize those who don't look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people."

    a copy of Obama's tweet:

    @ paddoboy !

Is it at all possible that you might show the smallest amount of decency and respect for the Victims and the families of the Victims of these Horrific incidences?

    Please?

At least two more Victims wounded in the attack in El Paso have died since you instigated your current needless tirade.

You have absolutely no idea whether any Member of this Forum, or any Reader of this Forum, has Family that may be Victims in any of these attacks!

Yes, paddoboy, you incessantly make it abundantly clear to any and all Members of this Forum exactly what you are "aware" of and the extent of your "ignorance".
But, could you possibly, on this one occasion, show just a modicum of respect for the Dead or Dying and their Families?

    Please?

paddoboy, you revel in "pushing peoples buttons" just to get a rise out of them. Numerous times you have bragged about "giving as good as you get" when it comes to "Bullying" - even when it is you that instigates that "Bullying".

Can you possibly understand that, for whatever reason, over this last weekend at least two people got their "Buttons" pushed to the breaking point?

Those two people ended the lives of way too many other people and left their families - the families of the Shooters and the families of all of the Victims - with horrific amounts of grief that will follow them for the rest of their lives!

You know that Gun Laws make little to no difference to someone who has been pushed to the point of Killing!

paddoboy, you "raised the point that if one of these mass shootings happened closer to home"- how about "closer" to your "home" - surely you are "aware" of the incident that took place in Darwin a little over two months ago.

Please, paddoboy, please show some decency and respect?

But we get those same films, games, etc! We even make our own!
Is it to do with some sort of recognition of the wild west? [We had our own wild days also by the way] Perhaps because your country was founded somewhat on violence? Australia was simply a penal colony for the unwanted pommy lawbreaker?
The thing is Australia and the US have been on the same side since WW1 and have been together [rightly or wrongly] in every war since.
From the outside looking in, again, it appears to be simply the extreme right wing NRA and your Republican party. We also have our extremes [a poly named Pauline Hanson and others] but they are thankfully in the extreme minority.
    I don't know.

I have never been pushed to that point dmoe. You?

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Hate is a terrible thing dmoe, and whether you have been showed to be an arse here or elsewhere is no excuse for it, you need to rid yourself of it.

My sympathies and respect go without saying, as it seems does everyone else so far.
Perhaps instead of chasing your inevitable attraction and bias towards me [which is obvious and known to the whole forum and has been for many years] you should show your own respect and sympathies. Your childish games are sickening and show some serious misapprehension with regards to yourself.
You have been curtailed elsewhere where you followed me, and still are for that very same thing: You have been censored and curtailed here for that same thing also in the past. You need to grow up, be a man. Sadly I hold little hope for that.

And we can understand by whom.
It's not "whatever reason" - it's reasons known to any American paying attention.
The people pushing the buttons on these guys are well known.
They are the same people who have been blocking mental health care, sensible gun restrictions, and other appropriate responses to their violence.

Agreed. Seemingly making excuses for these ratbags is abhorrent. Which again gets back to Donald Trump, your lawmakers, and the NRA.

We also have a rule of law that strives to treat all persons equally regardless of race, religion, creed.
We also have universal health care and solid social welfare systems which drastically reduces the stress on people and their families.
We also have less paranoia due to the reduction of guns in public hands as requested by the collective will of the people.
We also have parties that accept that in a democracy, someone looses at the poll and that is how it must be. Government is not just one party but an effective opposition is absolutely necessary for ultimately a bipartisan, and in the end it is always bipartisan, outcome to manifest into law.

Correct, so if we can do it, why not others?

If you mean the USA as others, for surely there are many nations that have similar priorities as Australia holds, the USA governing system is in itself primarily to blame.
The need for political systemic reform to prioritize towards national health is fundamental to improving the USA's social stability. IMO
Currently the system has demonstrated huge failure when it allows the election of an incompetent leader who has no idea of the encoded power of his words.
Encoded because people who are paranoid will always read into them the code that feeds their paranoia.
Tweets like "rat infested"streets of Baltimore, read in many dangerous ways to those who have white supremacist attitudes (paranoia) and have been following their "leader" with a passion.
    Its a hugely complicated issue:
The Westminster system of Governance , which Australia enjoys is generally more inclusive than the system that excludes, in use in the USA.
This exclusion leads to division and antipathy. A sense of frustrated impotency that goes on to push people into basically ignoring or playing lip service to the government..often with tragic results.

and so on.. blah blah blah...

The quickest and best thing the USA could possibly do at this tragic time is to forbid Trump from using the internet to spread his hate fueled agenda...simply ban him from public discourse over the net.

But of course they ( his administration and government) can't and they wont. Twitter as an organization may indeed be able to do something... if they have the courage to implement their own rules.

Twitter was not originally designed to be a vehicle for a POTUS. They really need to have a big rethink about how they manage a POTUS tweeter who does not respect his own power of influence.

I have already said that or similar. The original lawmakers in the 1700's and their constitution.
And I certainly agree with your opinion on national health system.
So we have the original lawmakers and their constitution, the Republicans and the NRA.
Like I said, I don't know the solution.

perhaps this instance can be a good opportunity to bring about change...
If the owner of Twitter, publicly suspended Trumps account. What would happen? Do you think?
    Media would go ape...
As a legitimate private institution it has every right to protect it's business, but it also has every right to protect the national interest.
Suspension ~awaiting resolution...and let it play out in their legal system...

Use what we call, a Royal commission as an example of outcome...

The so called "leader of the free world" and yet so out of step with general opinion and reality. A nation that fostered NASA and put men on the Moon...and yet.........

Lol I want to say this happened like a year ago, a Twitter employee deleted Trump’s account. I don’t remember the details, but he probably had a coronary. ^_^

The Nazis are not attacking the powerful leaders who use working class health care money to pay for their own private armed security.

the Nazis are attacking the weak, the sick, the lame, the un-armed, defenseless women, children and civilians.

the Nazis are attacking soft civilian targets

why are these Nazis not being sent to Guantanamo bay ?

    ...
it is interesting to see in many ways in which people attempt to frame the situation and suggest they know the answers while then claiming they dont know the answers (gun laws & hate speech propaganda)

it is very weird to try and mentally encapsulate the reality of those men women & children who fought & those who died in WWII fighting against the Nazis to realize they now have them roaming freely inside their own country going unchecked by many leaders and authority.

the modern civilised mental assertion of being in control of ones own desires and community contentedness tends to discombobulate the very core of such events.
investing emotion into such things can be a big negative to personal physical & mental health.

    the answer is simple
remove all military semi automatics & hand guns from civil society like all other modern societys.
its like watching a boat load of children drown with no life jackets and saying, "dont give them life jackets that wont save ALL of them, just wait for a big rescue ship to arrive i have tweeted a really good tweet to let everyone know about it".

but the surveys say nearly 50% of all americans think they should be allowed to buy machine guns & hand guns and military assault rifles to play with.

yet look at the laws in the usa prohibiting fireworks.
    and compulsory motor vehicle insurance
you can be arrested and treated as a criminal for not having motor vehicle insurance
but you wont get arrested for being a Nazi
it sure looks like the lunatics have taken over the asylum
