Spoken like someone who has spent most of their career in the field of engineering, where reality trumps outrage, drama and scandal. If your stuff works you are a good engineer. If it doesn't work because you believe in magic, then you are a poor one.

Now, if you are writer for the National Enquirer, or a reality TV show star, or a ghost hunter, then the opposite is true of course.

"Drama and outrage" are part of the human world. It's all over the evening news. Talk shows thrive on it. Reality shows only succeed on TV because they are actually filming reality as it is happening. If Ghost hunter shows were fake, nobody would watch them. But over the last 15 years since they started, nothing has come out about them ever being faked. You know the media would be all over that story. But not a peep. They are quite real and provide ample and compelling evidence for the paranormal.

People watch these things for entertainment MR. I religiously watched the X-Files, but unlike you and river, I was not duped into believing what the story line of the show was. It was entertainment!!!

LOL X-files wasn't a reality show. Cops and Live PD and Live Rescue and Intervention and Hoarders are. Do you think these are fake because they're reality shows?

 

And off he goes again!! I didn't say X-Files was a "realty" show. The reality shows I'm speaking of are the ones like Bachelor, or "married at first sight" and others of that nature, where people are presumed to act the same way they would act without any camera. What's unreal about them? The fact that no one really acts with a camera on them, as they might without a camera.
Live rescue shows and such are a different category. But I sense you already knew that and are doing your usual obtuseness and feigning ignorance.

Bigfoot, the abominable snow man and similar beliefs like Lochie, is what puts you into the category that most all here now recognise and accept.
When did you stop believing in Santa Claus? Do you accept that seeing some bloke in a red suit and long white beard is convincing irrefutable evidence of Santa? Do you believe that waking up with a sack of toys at the foot of your bed is convincing evidence?

 

So reality shows aren't fake just because they are reality shows. Is that what you're saying?

 

They are fake for the reasons I already presented...you know, that camera thingy? Or just as fake as Lochie [you know the question you again sidestepped] or Bigfoot, or the abominable snowman, or Alien controlled UFO's, or even inter dimensional controlled UFO craft....as much evidence for them as there is for Santa.

 

Nope. That doesn't make them fake. It might make them more dramatic, but definitely not fake. The people are reacting honestly to real situations with no script or plotline.
