I'm posting evidence in compliance with the OP of the thread. Not everything's about you. I'd be doing this even if you weren't here. If anyone's trolling, it's you.

You also know perfectly well that, if a bona fide ghost hunter had the opportunity to get hard data of paranormal activity draining electronic devices, they would sell their grandmother to get it published.

By declaring that this alleged phenomenon is 'well known' and 'annoying', you've outed the producers and actors of the show as trolls as well.

But we knew that. And now you've admitted that you know it too.

You've never been hiking in your life if you think that.

You're doing the Dunning-Krueger thing again.

I know humans can't see in the dark. No..backpackers don't hike in the dark. They set up camp and eat and get some much needed rest. That's what the backpacks are for.

For starters, you don't know it's too dark to see. You made that up.

(Again, pity the producers didn't see fit to get the time of the incident into the account - or even the day, or month.)

Regardless, your stance is insincere. You do not believe that 'backpackers backpacking' is so implausible as to be ruled out. Because, as pointed out, you are not an idiot.

Yes you are. You are complying with the latter, but not the spirit.

There are no rules that say one has to believe one's own dung.
There are no rules that say one can't play Devil's Advocate - defending an indefensible position.

Some day perhaps you might go hiking, and actually learn what it's about instead of making shit up based on what you saw on TV.

It might be hard to believe for someone who has never been without artificial light, but it's perfectly possible to hike by moonlight. And when it's hot out, it makes a lot of sense to hike when it's cooler, especially if you have to carry all your water.

If you care, here's some more info: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/night-hiking-basics.html

If you wish to maintain your ignorance, of course, then avoid such sites and experiences, lest you accidentally learn something.

Oh, now it's 'night' is it?

He's not ignorant; he's trolling. He knows perfectly well he's making this up.

LOL@Billvon suddenly becoming the local expert at nighthiking without flashlights all because he doesn't want to believe in ghosts.

Look, I've been hiking in the Rocky Mountains. We always set up camp at nightfall and fixed dinner and slept till sunrise. Most all backpackers do this. You'd have to be an idiot to try to hike in thick woods at night without flashlights. Is that what you do?

Nope. I am not an expert at all. I have merely done it, unlike you.

And of course we took flashlights. And we used them as little as possible - because you can see a lot more at night once your eyes are dark adapted.
Funny how even though claim to have hiked, you spend so much effort remaining ignorant. I guess more knowledge could damage your religious beliefs, and that would cause you a lot of cognitive dissonance.

Wrong. University academics would be queuing around block to view the Julius Caesar interview. Historians would want to get the historical low-down from the man himself. Physicists would want to investigate the physics of how ghosts can transfer energy to and from camera, and they would want to discover the physical underpinnings that allows the ghost of Julius Caesar not only to exist in the first place, but also to communicate to present human beings. As a result, universities everywhere would be starting up interdisciplinary Faculties of Ghost Studies, to investigate the physical, social, philosophical and other implications of this proof that ghosts are real. No doubt, the resulting research would uncover fundamental new understandings about our universe and our place in it.

In short, the discovery that ghosts are real would very likely change a great many things, not nothing (as you claim).

Your concern for my feelings is much appreciated, but in concentrating on that you completely missed the point. Or rather more likely, you chose to ignore it. In short, the point was that you made the false claim that the ghost camera battery drain thing was "well established". Turns out, as expected, that it is nothing of the sort. Which means that, as usual, you're deluding yourself, and then trying to drag other people into your private abyss of unreason.

God is a matter of "common knowledge" among a majority of the world's population, or so they tell us. Why don't you believe in God? Seriously, try answering that. Why don't you believe in God? I'm intrigued to know.

The people who are too lazy to systematically collect or publish any actual data?

The thing you should realise is that the aim of "ghost hunter" shows is to entertain. Nothing else. It's mindless fluff that you can waste your time on when you're tired of watching re-runs of Friends.

The plural of anecdote is not data.

Depends what they are. The quality of material varies wildly, between total crud and entertaining/informative content.

Invariably, the stuff you choose to present here is at the crud end of the scale.

The videos you choose to put up as supposed "proof of ghosts", you mean? Yeah, usually those have poor quality. Some of them are sure to be hoaxes. More to the point, none of them ever give enough context to extract anything conclusive from them.

Let's be clear. This discussion started with your claim that there is evidence that ghosts drain camera batteries. When challenged to provide the convincing evidence you say exists for that claim, you came up blank, as usual. The rest is you getting your knickers in a tangle because you were caught out in another lie.

    1 day.
Have the points reduced to zero over the last five months?
From nearing permanent ban to only 1 day ban?
    March 2019
The next warning that Magical Realist gets will likely result in his permanent banning from sciforums.

Magical Realist only had to post one video, perhaps I should have called this
'Best Singular Ghost evidence you have come across'

Listening to that 'Authentic Cowboy Ghost Accent' gave me the same rush of excitement and chills as it did the first time I heard it.

I stand by what I said about how these paranormal activities would have happened weather or not it's for a TV show, It's important to remember, the ghosts don't know they are on TV.

Most of you don't believe any way.

What exactly is an "authentic cowboy ghost accent"?
What about it distinguishes "cowboy" accent from a southern/Texan drawl?
What about it distinguishes 'voice of ghost' from 'voice of living person'?
What is authentic about it? Is "cowboy accent" even a thing, outside of Hollywood? How is it not simply some dude talking in a stereotype "cowboy accent"?

A science forum is not really a good place for "believers". It's more of a place for analysts and shrewd thinkers.

We are of the mind that, if we are going to make extraordinary claims, we will have to produce extraordinary evidence to support them.
