What this suggests to me is that most people who report UFOs have been strongly influenced by the notion of "flying saucers". Apart from that, the wide variety in the details that are reports just tends to indicate overactive imaginations and/or marginal sighting conditions.

Actually what this suggests is the huge variety of ufos that are sighted and reported that are so detailed that eyewitnesses can actually determine unique details on the ufos. People who just see the planet Venus, meteorites, or a flock of seagulls don't typically report in such detail.

This is why the vast majority of UFO reports concern only unidentified lights in the sky. Only a small proportion embellish the story with details of "craft" like the one in the picture.

Yeah..it is already well known that 90% of ufo reports are dismissable as mundane objects. It's that crucial and detailed 10% that tells us that the UFO phenomenon is real.

No. It's all of the reports that tell us the UFO "phenomenon" is real, and the 90% that tell us that it's not quite such a "phenomenon" as you make out. Most of the other 10% (if, optimistically, it is as much as that) are just cases for which there is insufficient evidence to reach any definite conclusions, leaving a tiny portion of cases which are interesting but unexplained.

Like I said, it's the 10% of reports that are both detailed and corroborated that confirm that the ufo phenomenon is real. That's just a solid fact. The recent Navy sightings backed up by radar return and FLIR video is a clear example of this.

I agree that the UFO "phenomenon" (*yawn*) is real. People do see stuff they can't explain in the sky.

Correction. People do see stuff in the sky and have been seeing stuff in the sky for 70 years that nobody can explain.

Making up shit is a common practice, so "details" are dubious.

I don't speculate on who operates ufos. I just know they exist in the form of 40 ft flying tics tacs, black triangles, rotating tops, and metallic flying discs. Call it compartmentalization.

No it isn't. People don't make up detailed reports of ufos and then risk ridicule by going public with it.

    In fact, they do.

    There are confirmed, admitted hoaxes.

Pro-tip: Try to avoid stating beliefs that can be demonstrably shown false.

Gee. It's like you've just forgotten everything we discussed previously in regards to this.

You don't remember the stuff about gimbal cameras and apparent rotation?

Or is this just you trolling, trying to make me repeat stuff because you're pretending you can't remember?
