Does the possibility that life has no meaning, bother you?

Not a possibly, a plain old fact. Arrogant meat sacks on a bitty planet are NOT important. Get over yourselves.

    Important to whom?

As the only known living entities in the universe, we get to decide what's important.

Life only has the biological imperative to survive as purpose. Just surviving doesn't seem to satisfy the human need for significance. So we just have to create our own significance.

Which seems to fit the definition of circular reasoning

    Try

    We exist

    For no REASON

    Enjoy

    Stop over analysing

The good news is that if it bothers you it won't bother you after you die.

Not really, as physiological life has different needs/purposes from a human's psychological life. Now, if you equate the psychological with the physiological, that's your own circular reasoning.

Could you expand on this important point?
    try:
The generational indoctrination of religious responsibility shifting from self to "other than self" (God) leads to an individual looking for purpose given rather than self created.
In other words even most atheists still inadvertently promote a divinity that fails to provide a purpose in that they complain that there appears to be none.

    Playing the devils advocate:
    How do you know?
    Are you sure?
What evidence do you have that you are correct?
Would you bet your life on it? lol

I'll bet my life on it. If I'm wrong I'll die one day.

No you don't, you just get to wish that something is important.

It doesn't bother me when I'm under for surgery. I fully expect that same state to carry on when I'm dead.

All children accept what is given them until they can do for themselves. Some adults are still children in that sense.

Quite the opposite. Who is to tell us that what we - as the only known life forms - consider important, is otherwise?

We invented the concept of importance. It requires an entity to conceptualize it. We imbued it with meaning.
There is no appeal to anyone but humans.

In 2019 the first question , it should be obvious . It is based on your and our actions , both individually and as a whole .

I'm going to assume you meant " Psychological life does not exist if the physiological life dies".
Like a telephone, we do not presume the speaker on the other end of the line dies just because the line has gone dead.

Correct in your assumption about me

If you KNOW the phone line has gone dead, sure you have no reason to presume the speaker on the other end of the line has died

Not sure it matches my flawed, but now corrected, example

Are you of the view that after a person dies psychological life DOES continue?

Yes, but that's not even necessary for physiological and psychological life to be fundamentally different. The needs of the body are only the seeds, at best, for the largely social evolutionary psychology built upon them. Social interactions require significances that the needs of the body do not. Many animals procreate without consent, but humans deem that to be a significance worthy of laws to forbid.

So you believe you have no internal, subjective experience whatsoever?
