    Great on all counts!

    I am glad!

I just was hoping you don’t go around thinking that people are all guilty of lying until proven innocent.

Because that would be a rough thing for a spouse to live with, I mean, if you did that to them all the time.

    I’m sure you understand.

I’m so glad you aren’t doing that!

    Can I ask?

Do you automatically treat all accounts of God as fiction, before studying them?

So let's just get this straight. You think that science is like negotiating with a spouse. That explains a few things.

Specifically, what kind of evidence would be sufficient for you to accept the Exodus Account as history?

You talk about the case for or against evidence of the Exodus in the same context as dealing with one's spouse about lying until proven innocent. You freely go back and forth between the two concepts, with the implication that they are synonymous.

That is a straw man and an ad hom rolled into one.

"Well, I don't have an argument why one should be skeptical of evidence of extraordinary claims, so I'll move it to something personal about the poster's relationship with his wife."

It not being in the Bible would be a good start.

The Bible, to modern eyes, is a book of parables, not to be taken literally.

Genesis is not meant to be a literal account of creation.
The Flood is not meant as a declaration that the whole world was flooded to the point of submersion, wiping out all life, and restarting it from just two of a few score species on a barge.
Moses did not literally raise his hands and part the Red Sea.
God did not literally rain manna down upon his people in the desert.

Ask your local pastor. Or the Pope.

It looked like lying was assumed in the Exodus Account before evidence was evaluated.

It was being equated to a contemporary fictional movie, which is a hugh stretch, and clearly false.

That is about the worst approach to science I have ever seen!

It looks like a purely anti-supernatural bias.

That is how it appeared anyway.

And that is not even remotely science, or scientific inquiry.

The Exodus Account has to be evaluated from the evidence, not in spite of the evidence.

That my friend is good science.

Assuming the conclusion before evidence is studied is not science.

    That is personal bias.

It is a false and unethical practice.

It is a poor approach to all of life.

    Including marriage relationships.

    I am sure you agree!

Whatever it is, it is not science.

And you do know all of this.

So why would you do this, knowing it is wrong?

    That really is anti-supernatural bias.

That is a claim that the supernatural does not exist.

That has no place in science unless you can prove it.

    Prove it?

Both reason and evidence point to God parting the Red Sea.

The Geography matches the description given in the Exodus account exactly. And the evidence on the Sea floor verifies it as well.

The Site matches the Account perfectly.

I am going to calculate the amount of water displacement which would have been needed.

Impossible for Moses, not impossible for God.

Dr. Glen Fritz has done an exhaustive study of the Red Sea Crossing Site and the surrounding area.

He is not likely to be correct on every aspect.

He is also not likely to be incorrect on ever aspect either.

Google Earth is a great tool to start with.

I will give you the coordinates for it if you want to go there.

Sure. I could be a fictional character made up by some Russian hacker. The only evidence you have is that somebody wrote my posts.

Same with the Exodus. The only evidence you have is that somebody wrote a story. Some of the places in the story might be real but that doesn't mean the story is true.

I made no claim the supernatural does not exist. Look again.

    OK. Great!

If we had matching evidence on the ground for Who, What, When, Why, and How?

Is that enough evidence to establish the plausible historicity of the Exodus Account for you?

Who - no evidence that Moses ever existed and little to no evidence that Israelites were ever slaves in Egypt.

What - no evidence of a mass migration from Egypt to Palestine.

When - at the time the supposed mass migration supposedly took place, the Egyptians didn't seem to notice it.

Why - no evidence of any plagues that would have motivated the pharaoh to free any slaves.

How - no evidence of masses of people camping between Egypt and Palestine.

Why could that not be Sodom? What do they need to find to make it plausible?
