What will happen if Trump gets back in? Riots? Civil War or will things settle down and everyone works for a better future?
How do you rate his chances for a second term...Perhaps a third?

    I dunno.

I don't like Trump, yet I'm also Canadian so I can use my special powers of disassociation. Perhaps a more right wing view is needed for your question.

The problem is going to be when he is voted out and then he claims that the election was rigged and the votes were all fraudulent.. He then refuses to leave. What he will do in his final couple months in office is also a bit scary..

He was laying the groundwork for “rigged” voting just a couple days ago.

Aside, if he wins a second term he should pick a fight with Trudeau.

    Disaster upon disaster.
He'll manufacture those, anyway, long before the election.
Maybe not open shooting war, but almost certainly a dissolution of the union. When northern states and the west coast secede, I can't envision Dixieland fighting to keep them. (It won't be until much later, when they have to negotiate for everything they need from those other states that their governments will realize the degree of their dependency.
That's not up to Trump - much as he wishes it were.
Covid-19 is a far more powerful shaper of the future.
Term = 20% Perfect President for Life by Executive order = 30% actual rule +/- 2 years in either case. (COD unspecified)
He was doing that back in 2015. And there are plenty of idiots happy to believe anything bad he says, even though they're fully aware that he is congenitally incapable of recognizing a truth, even if it's covered in marshmallow sauce. They simply do not care what he says or does, so long as he keeps projecting their collective temper tantrum.

Trudeau will be too busy trying to rescue the oil sector from Elizabeth May.

    Huh?

I think Canada produces more oil then it consumes.

Wa-a-ay more than it can ever consume.
I guess you're a day or two behind the news: Oil prices declined into negative (picture that!!) figures; the sands and pipeline are in deep financial do-do; May declared oil dead and called for a restructuring of Alberta's economy to make different, cleaner work for all those people dis-employed in the oil industry. Kenny characterized this as an attack on helpless people when they're down. Poor old Trudeau (Have you noticed, every morning he comes to stand out on his porch, there's a little more grey in his rather becoming new beard?) is trying to placate the tar-babies, even though he knows May is right.

Nothing so dramatic. The US will continue to decline in world standing. US debt will skyrocket. The market will crash. COVID will still be around. And he will claim victory over all those things.

Now, if Biden wins, I can see riots. Trump supporters are the kind of people who are OK with assault, rape and murder as long as it helps their side.

don’t forget that the courts will end up being stacked with far far right conservatives for years to come.

No would happen really. If enough people reelect him, they will be getting what they deserve. I'd like to say I don't see that happening but then again I didn't see it happening the first time around.

More than likely, he won't be reelected. That's as far as I'll go.

The markets wouldn't crash however. The next 4 years would be a disaster however. It's hard to get excited by Biden but compared to Trump it would be a relief.

If the contest was between him and someone intelligent/charismatic/inspiring then I would agree.
They are going to crash and nothing we can do will stop that. As soon as we start reopening the country and all those jobs don't come back - people will start selling like crazy.

He's already ''in,'' you mean if he gets reelected. Biden isn't better, he's cut from the same cloth, different label.

But, I do see perhaps a few riots here and there, if he gets reelected. It depends largely on what happens relating to Cv19, and our economy. For some, not necessarily in that order.

Incumbent presidents get re elected 71% of the time.

Yep. But during a recession that they helped cause - their odds go down quite a bit.

Incumbent presidents have been clinically sane*, if not always intellectually outstanding, and, if not competent themselves, at least endowed with the ability to choose and retain competent staff.
*Not sure about Reagan, but he cut taxes for the rich, knocked over regulations on industry and kneecapped the labour unions, so he could coast from that exalted pinnacle of heroism.
But he didn't invite a plague - so far, no other incumbent has.

I wonder if you can really think of anyone who craves power to such a high degree to go thru the necessary work and commitment as sane.
Obama seemed sane to me but he must have been crazy to think he could make it...if you really think about it.

    Honestly is this fair?
How would any of us go trying to manage such a crisis?
I think herding cats would be easier than trying to implement sound procedures to manage the virus..let's face it how is a president going to control all those folk who simply say "f..k you" I will attend church..whatever... and no government is going to tell me what to do.
All I suggest is there is a large proportion of the population who will never ever be happy with anything he does and even the folk on his side won't go along with his ideas if they feel it inhibits the "freedom".
I think blaming one man is an extrodinary over simplification of an extremely complex situation.

We'll see. They already "crashed" during the initial fear of the unknown and they have almost fully recovered. I have no doubt that there will be more declines but I don't think those lows will be retested.

Most stocks that are publicly traded aren't in the industries that were hardest hit. The workers hardest hit this time weren't the ones that will have the greatest effect on the economy. In many cases it may not even affect the real estate market since many affected weren't buying houses anyway.
