    Having read some of Sweatman's stuff, I have to say it does seem subjective; there's no way to really tell if carvings on pillars are representations of stellar constellations, he even admits that the supposition is not scientific. But then he goes on to present the somewhat dubious claim that his interpretation has a statistically low probability of being wrong.

    It seems there are as many interpretations as there are researchers. It might be that Sweatman has managed to decode the pillars (or some of them) at Gobekle Tepe, but I can't say his analysis has been accepted by, well, any of his peers.
