Does anyone else feel like Trump is creating an American Taliban? There is a lot of talk in places like parlor and so-called private Facebook groups, about the need to take up arms in order to defend the election. This is basically terrorism but they are disguising it and somehow legitimizing The murder of American citizens by using the term Civil War. I’m sure the FBI is working overtime to make sure none of these threats become a reality but it is highly disturbingTo see the stuff being openly discussed.

That scene where they surrounded a Biden campaign bus.. After trumps little freak out video today, I think it’s clear that he will not back down from these claims. The Republicans that still have any integrity need to stand up against him and soon before he tells these people to stop just standing by..

Think about it. If the Democrats could steal the Presidential election, why didn't they also steal the elections for the House of Reps and the Senate?

Or consider this: Trump still claims that Clinton did not really win the popular vote in 2016, and that the 2.7 million more votes that Clinton got were all fraudulent ones. Now Trump only won the electoral college by winning three states by slim margins. So, if the Democrats had an extra 2.7 million vote to throw around, you would think that, knowing they needed to win the electoral vote, not just the popular one, that they would have made better use of them in 2016.

And as far as POVphysics's distrust goes: The Democrats may not be saints, but when it comes to trying to steal elections, the Republicans are far, far, worse.

It is over. It is time for Trump and his minions to stop being sore losers.

But it's an alternative fact that Trump won the election!

    Gotta love those alternative facts

Now my problem becomes which timeline I join

    Biden reality

    Trump reality

It is very truthy. It feels right in people's guts.

One of my repeated contentions on this forum is that the American Republican voter, especially the male, is the dumbest and most gullible adult on the planet. The reason is that - unlike other conned and played citizens who sucker for autocrats and demagogues and fantasies about wealthy businessmen - he has easy access to solid information and plenty of time (decades) to make his decision.

Since that is a shaky opinion, I welcome additional support. So: https://slate.com/news-and-politics...rtsbooks-offshore-2020-election-gambling.html
But in addition to illustrating the degree to which Republican voters inhabit a childish fantasy world of cartoon stereotypes, the financial hit they took (add up the bets, the contributions, the Chinese made MAGA swag they paid retail for, the cost of the harms they did themselves medically and otherwise) might explain the intensity and obsession with which they have reacted to Trump's defeat.

They got cheated. As a matter of human nature, cheated people get irrationally angry and blame others.

Try the lefty timeline. Unlike the Trump one (or the Biden one, to some extent) it has stuff like facts and physical realities along it, plus a fifty year track record of accuracy in demarcation.

My generalised view of Biden is he is like a leaf in a cyclone and also he can be played like an accordion

I think he will be content to settle into the position, let the his team do the job, and work at building his fortune for his retirement

He doesn't show much interest in fortune-building, and he's well past retirement age.
Otherwise - sure. But what about the timeline?
He's been steady, predictable, and loyal to his backers for his entire career. Old men don't change much, as a rule - why do you think Biden will be an exception?

I'm late to the Biden party so my view is nothing more than a gut feeling and no pretence of being anything else

Let alone Biden's previous political career, he spent 8 years in the White House as Vice President to a smart guy. And, while Biden is going to have a whole lot to deal with that Trump has totally fucked up over the past four years and a pandemic to boot, it's highly likely Obama will advise and assist Biden to get the ball rolling and they should have a great accomplished in a short time if they can get all Americans to cooperate and work together. Unfortunately, Trump has totally fucked that up as well.

Are you thinking of something similar to how Putin played Trump?

    For example?
I can't think of any, myself - the likeliest place to find a Putin analog in the Democratic Party would be among Biden's allies and long-time supporters.
