My Ghost experiments start with the assumption that they already exist. I am coming up with ways of finding out what they are capable of doing.

Opening and closing doors is one of their specialties.

You missed my point. Your experiments also start with the assumption that you can engage them in conversation and ask them to do things for you. If you can do that, the rest of the experiment is redundant. Just ask them to write you a letter.

But that's the point, Ghosts can't write a letter, they can only interact in a very limited number of ways. People are having to invent and come up with new things to help the Ghosts communicate.

Ghost experiment number 5 (FAN FARE)

    The Bubble Machine

    Back Ground/Context
In an episode of Ghost Adventures, a Hotel Worker claimed she threw a Bed Sheet over a Bed, unbeknownst to her, a Ghost was lying on the Bed. The Sheet covered the Body. It was as if she threw a Sheet over an invisible Person.

    Ghosts can gently move things.

    Apparatus
A very large Bubble creating machine. A large film ready to blow, but not blowing.

    The Experiment
Wait for a Ghost to stick their hand in it.

    The Result
    Be amazed by 3D details.

I just saw in the latest episode of Ghost Adventures, that Ghosts make things Cold AND Static. This could have dire consequences for Experiment number 5.

I have to laugh when I read that, especially when just a few simple physics concepts shows it to contradict itself. Ghosts would then have to be physical entities that can easily be detected and measured accurately if the can have an effect on the physical world. Of course, that show probably never even bothered to talk about that, right?

    Measured, yes; Detected, not yet.

You realize that, in order to measure something, you must be able to detect it, right?

They can measure the Ghost's affects, but can't detect the Ghost.

Edit:- Maybe they're just bad at their Job.

Then how do they know it's because of a ghost at all?
    (Rhetorical question. They don't.)

A full body apparition is the much sought after Holy Grail of Ghost Hunting. My experiment Number 5 is the most exquisite yet. It would look fantastic.

Bit of a leap from "we can't detect them at all" to "full body apparition".
    Start with baby steps.

Agreed; A full BUBBLE apparition, seems much more feasible to me.

Foghorn; If you do some of your 3D art magic for Ghost Experiment number 5 (Hand or full Bubble Apparition, I don't mind which) I will be super grateful.

Who knows, maybe that will be enough to inspire a Ghost Hunting team to do the Experiment.

Really bad. So bad, in fact, they don't even possess the understanding that you must detect something first, to be identified and acknowledged before it can be measured.

This would show these guys are clueless and deluded.

I've started so many threads in the 'UFO, Ghost and Aliens' Section. I am tempted however to start a new thread 'Are Ghost Hunters good at their Job?' I could make it a Poll.

Edit:- But I want Foghorn to see my possible 3D art inspiration.

I raised the same point and Hawki addressed it.

Essentially he's asserting you can measure a room's temp getting cold or a door slamming shut - without actually detecting the alleged ghost itself that allegedly did the deed.

It's still based on a flawed premise - but it's not as contradictory as it seems on the surface.

Move over 'Ghost in the Machine', Ghost Experiment Number Five, will now be called... 'Ghost in the Bubble'.
