How come no Capital Punishment when the bible is very clear. Because we're not in 500BC Israel and our legislature is not controlled by Abraham. Because, even if that legislature is religious, the predominant religion tends to be Christianity, the founder of which famously said: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-7-1/ Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Bc this country is not United states of Jebus Read the Law o the land aka US Constitution Mind you with 8 bilion people on earth some bad aples should removed imo
Justice itself isn't entirely free from kill joy, to be saved you must be in danger which is the opposite of salvation.
I interpret that as : "we're all sinners and need to be punished". The death penalty is just a negotiable degree of punishment......Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Violence is by nature unneccesary to God, so Christians who conserve violence are murderous. The death penalty is defiantly sadistic for those who watch on with glee.
imho Capital punishment is murder by another name. and Many on death row are innocent. Our adversarial criminal justice system is dysfunctional. so Capital punishment is an arbitrary exercise in murder. but That's the culture in which we live(and die).
The prevalence of false confession, inaccurate identification, serious police and prosecutorial malfeasance, and societally enforced injustice via undermining of civil rights and the like, rises significantly in capital cases.
But that only applies to humans who can exercise "choice". In nature violence is necessary. For some things to live, some things must die. (Hellstrom Chronicle).
The practice of Capital Punishment reminds us of how thinly-veneered is our "red in tooth & claw" nature. It's a barbaric abomination, and those advocating for it these days have a personally venomous vendetta to settle, a sadistic streak inside them, or serious mental illness. The majority of sheep-citizens in the US & elsewhere go along with it because they simply don't care, as it's not in their face.
