    Here is your mistake
it ain't "the same public system" and never has been
    this is the usa
"public" schools are mostly funded locally
so a wealthy community spends more on their schools than does a poor community
also communities that value "book learning" spend more proportionally
race has nothing to do with it, unless it means a poor community that does not value education
we have (white) towns in iowa who cannot afford repairs to their sewer systems, and use 30 year old torn and tattered text books in their schools.

    .....................................................................
blaming race for everything does nothing to end racism
    quite the opposite actually
if you say it often enough, then people begin to believe that it is the norm, and act accordingly.

And ignoring racism when it comes to income inequality and a history of segregation, which leads to inequality in access to education and vital things like healthcare shows how ridiculous people like you are willing to be to blame everything but racism.

    It's obscene.

I'd ask if you have no shame, but people like you don't understand what that would even mean.

I know many people like you sculptor. I have spent my life dealing with people like you.

    True.

I don't hang out, nor am I friends with people who excuse, deny and who try to downplay racism to protect their white authority.

The poor black communities still have it far worse than the poor white ones and receive far less government funding for their children's basic needs.

    https://www.npr.org/2019/02/26/696794821/why-white-school-districts-have-so-much-more-money

An egalitarian state doesn't discriminate against children based on how much their parents pay in tax. It seems that outdated electoral and political systems are preventing reforms desired by the majority from being enacted. Furthermore it's racist to expect the same performance and development from a student receiving half the funding others receive for their basic needs, leave them unable to spend their days within the system in a safe and nurturing learning environment, and then blame any resulting shortcomings on the cultural and family background identified with their race.

Deliberately implementing or maintaining a set of rules and norms that unfairly favours one group over another is also a form of racism, especially after the defect has been repeatedly identified. As in, "Anyone can have a perfectly realistic chance at a good education from a prestigious school and a subsequent high quality of life, you just have to be born to a well-established family with enough money to support you for several years even in a worst case scenario, and not have had all of your ancestors living as slaves 150 years ago. Yay!" or "Yes layups are now worth four points, but we believe the old rules were discriminating against college prospects from schools like Yale and Princeton."

Huh? Who's blaming race for everything? I see protesters complaining about police violence and discrimination, I don't see them complaining about not winning enough Nobel Prizes.

And blaming racism for nothing perpetuates it indefinitely.

Firstly, I havn't followed this thread at all, but I believe its obvious, racism exists in the USA, just as it exists in Australia.
But from an outsider's point of view, the problem across the US appears to be firstly, the lack of gun laws, and secondly, the cowboy like, gun ho and shoot first actions of many American cops in general....not all but many. Is this to do with their training? The other point of view, which relates to the first problem, is that perhaps many American coppers are shit scared of confronting/pulling over citizens due to the fact that many of those so called "good citizens"can be carrying guns...hence there actions, or the actions of many of them, of shoot first, ask questions later.
It reminds me of what could be construed as the exact opposite to the case in question, and with regards to an Aussie woman living in the US that called the coppers after hearing a noise. She was shot dead by a black Policeman, who has since been sentenced to 12.5 years in jail.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Justine_Damond

My next question would be, if these race riots and demonstrations had not begun to the extent they have, would the coppers already charged with this case in question, have been charged? In other words, was this simply an act to present a non-prejudicial front to the world?

And as I said yesterday to a friend of mine from Fiji, who was disgusted with the looting, rioting and destroying of property not only in the US, but also the UK.
As someone who has been involved in demos and protest marches, you can bet your balls that the extreme fanatics on both sides of the spectrum, will always find a reason to join in, and then conduct their own versions of protest by rioting, looting and such. A shame these arseholes cannot be weeded out.

Finally I hope this obvious murder of George Floyd, does achieve firstly a more accountable policeforce, and an improvement in the racial situation in the States. Perhaps that maybe helped with the kicking out of the greatest political enemy of the USA and the world since Hitler...you know that excuse for a President that you Americans now have.
And in my opinion that would start with reasonable gun laws.

My opinion is that the problems with departments like the police is the problem of psychology of authority, or being authorized.

When you're authorized, your sense of personal responsibility is diminished: in the army soldiers are trained to put aside personal feelings and focus on a mission. Soldiers are trained to inure themselves to caring emotions and be killing machines. C'est la guerre.

Training a police force in military tactics should, and it does, lead to civilian casualties and injuries. For much the same reason, and I believe is the reason most of the police who saw the old guy fall over and start bleeding from his head just walked past. They weren't responsible for what happened, the officer who shoved him was obeying orders and clearing protestors (not people) from the street.

Can't ignore the irony of a proud gun toter complaining that unarmed black people are scary and thus the police are justified in treating them like rodeo bulls, but when a white gun owner gets arrested for doing something that's actually scary like bringing their guns onto government property and pointing them at state congressmen, then it's time for a new constitution and government. Meanwhile Trump wants to declare Antifa a terrorist organization, because of the century they've spent burning crosses on people's lawns... or wait a sec...

Let's place bets. Who disarms first? American rednecks, or Hezbollah?

And of course, part of the problem is the hiring and vetting processes in police departments. If you end up hiring a bunch of rednecks who would otherwise be toting their guns around and drinking beer in public, then what the hell do you expect they're gonna do if you tool them up with riot gear, tear gas and guns that "don't hurt much", and point them at some protestors?

Race is what was used to split the communities at issue into rich and poor sections.
Race is what was used to keep the poor section from acquiring more wealth and investing it in education.
Race was and is what wealthy people in the US use to tell whether a school is "theirs" or not.
The methods included the police behavior that killed George Floyd, which has been routine and racially organized for generations now.
Race has everything to do with it.
    So?

So there shouldn't be any more federal or state money spent on any black towns until all poor white towns in America have been raised to their level, it's a matter of equality!

Could well be, especially when he's hunted down by a cop who exploits a system where a black person accused by a black officer is doubleh guilteh.

A thread on why the American racial bigot is so often unclean - personally nasty, mean, foul, dishonest, etc - seems next in line.

I got hired in a Government DC agency where 99% of the employees and manager's staff were black.

I has been discriminated in that government agency for 15 years, the black supervisors never allowed me to take the next grade but they -in front of me to provoke me- asked to lower level black employees "if they want a higher level job", and they only have to say "yes" to have it.

Even when I got a license which allowed me to have the higher level and better salary, the supervisors in complicity with the "Union" (who also were black people, of course) planned to rise my status to a lower level that the estimated by law.

I was so lucky that because this government agency was ruled by black people, it became in bankruptcy and in total chaos. The agency was later under a court that ruled a "receivership". The "receiver" was a white man who obtained total authority to hire, fire, make contracts, cancel contracts, close offices, open new ones, etc.

In his first speech to the whole agency, at the time he was shaking hands with everybody, I told him that I had obtained my license, that I was supposed to be promoted to the higher level in my job description, but I will receive only a promotion to a lower level. He told me to give him my name and worker ID number. I wrote the information in a piece of paper.

Two weeks later, when I received my pay stab, and I didn't believe my eyes, my check was fat, my grade was the corespondent one according to my job description. Plus, I received later another bigger check compensated me for the years I was working at a higher grade with a lower grade salary.

This "receiver" changed the face of this agency, and lots of white, Asian and Latino people were hired. No more black people in total control of the agency. Before the receivership, stealing, alcohol in the premises, even drugs and more were the "usual" in that agency. All of that changed. After the receivership was over, corruption continued again but not openly as before.

So, your post is just a lie, because not only "some" white people discriminate black people, but also "some" black people discriminate others.

I never accused anyone about discrimination, because discrimination happens everywhere.

And I can bet that in your country happens the same, that there is also discrimination over there and you can't deny this fact.

I don't know what is your agenda, because you identify yourself as a foreign poster, but I live here in America, and I can tell better not by saying what others say but my words are based on what I have experienced.
