Most plants are asexual (and plants constitute 82% of life on Earth.
    Most = >50% = a minimum of 42% of life. +13% for bacteria = a minimum of 55%.
Add whatever extra figure comes from an actual value for plants, plus whatever % is added for those animals that reproduce asexually and you're rapidly approaching "vast majority".

You only give 13% to bacteria? Are you measuring by biomass, or by counting?

Sorry, that's by biomass. (From my second link).
Counting would, of course, provide a larger value.

The most advanced plants need to be pollinated .

    And that's done asexually.

All I am saying is the obvious. The Conscious Experience of Pain will enable an Animal to have a higher survival rate. The Animal is not trying to survive for the sake of Evolutionary Theory, but rather the Animal is simply trying to avoid the Pain. The Pain is making the Animal behave differently than it would without the Pain. But it is the Conscious Pain itself that does this. The survival of the Animal is being enhanced by a Phenomenon of Consciousness, however primitive it might be. This Pain will cause the Evolutionary outcome to be different for the Species of the Animal.

Why does it have to be a conscious experience of pain?

If you put your hand on a red hot stove element, your hand will yank away automatically - much faster than it would if you had to consciously process the pain before reacting.
Same thing a leaping lion on the savannah.

In such cases, consciousness is actually a disadvantage over a distributed or instinctive nervous system.

But quickly after the Pain Reflex there is still the searing Pain that follows. If you fall forward towards a hot stove and reach your hand out to catch yourself on the hot top, the Reflex Response will try to pull your hand away but is unable to because you are bracing yourself with you hand. The Searing Pain after the Reflex will certainly make you pull yourself up and off the stove. If there was no Pain you would not have much motivation to pull up off of the stove as quickly. Maybe you will need to see your hand start to burn to a crisp. Not only that, but the Memory of the Pain will allow you to be more careful around stoves. If your hand just jerks away without Pain you might not get the lesson. Especially true for more primitive creatures all through Evolutionary history.

The built-in Reflex movements are for the short term Tactical movements needed to avoid injury. The Conscious Mind uses Conscious Volition to create movements for the long term Strategic goal of avoiding Pain Experiences.

Then you should have made that point, instead of waffling.
Bacteria are asexual. They manage to evolve.

    I did , just wasn't clear enough on what I mean't , agreed .

    Adapt rather than evolve .

Does the DNA change? And is that change passed on?

Yes . The Environment in which it is in , bacteria , changes the its DNA .

Through many millions of replications . Some find Adaption .
